Quite the Smooth Move

In the end, Zhang Yang chose to go to Asgard.

Not for any other reason, but because of the Space Stone.

He needed the Space Stone's power to restore his Spacetime Force. Relying solely on drawing dimensional power would be far too slow.

For instance, the blue speck of light within the Dimension Heart in Zhang Yang's body had already finished charging. Not only had it regained its luster, but it had also grown slightly larger than before.

Meanwhile, the azure speck of light was still extremely listless, even smaller than the black flame speck that had just entered the Dimension Heart.

Odin had placed himself in a very humble position. He weighed his words every time he spoke, utterly unlike the arrogant and unruly figure described in history.

Through a teleportation array established by the Asgardian Gods, they arrived in Asgard, a secondary plane attached to the main plane.

At this time, Asgard still retained the wild architectural style of the original Norse Vikings, vastly different from the gleaming golden style of later generations.

Odin led Zhang Yang to the king's bedchamber, where Zhang Yang met Odin's aged father—Bor.

"Father."

Odin helped his father up from the bed and introduced him in a low voice, "This is Zhang Yang, the powerful man who drove back Darkseid."

"Zhang Yang?"

Bor struggled to open his clouded eyes. Speaking seemed difficult for him. "He looks very young."

"Though young, he is very strong."

Odin nodded. "By the way, Father, do you know of the Tesseract?"

"The Tesseract?"

Bor gestured for Odin to set him down. After thinking for a moment, he shook his head. "I do not know what the Tesseract is. Do you want to obtain it?"

Odin shook his head. "No, Zhang Yang needs it."

"Can you tell me about the Tesseract's characteristics?"

Bor looked at Zhang Yang and said weakly, "Perhaps I can find a cosmic artifact that matches it."

Zhang Yang thought about it. That was true. Perhaps the Tesseract had not yet appeared at this point in time, or perhaps it simply went by another name.

So Zhang Yang got straight to the point. "It was originally an Infinity Stone, called the Space Stone..."

Before he could say more, Bor interrupted him. "The Space Stone? I know it."

"You know it?"

Zhang Yang was somewhat surprised, but also relieved. It seemed the Infinity Stones had not yet been made into the Tesseract.

"Yes."

Bor nodded. "It was spoils of war left by my father. It is now stored in Asgard's treasury."

"So the Tesseract is the Space Stone!"

Only then did Odin realize it. "I have seen that thing. It possesses tremendous power."

"If possible..."

Zhang Yang carefully chose his words. "Could you lend me the Space Stone for a while?"

"No problem."

Before Bor could speak, Odin readily agreed. "I'll take you to the treasury right away. I know where it is."

Bor wore a helpless expression, but the words had already been spoken. He could not undermine his son.

Especially when his son was now the God King.

"Go on."

Bor was exhausted. He waved his hand, signaling for Odin to handle it himself.

Thus, Odin happily led Zhang Yang to Asgard's treasury. At its deepest point, Zhang Yang saw a blue gem casually placed in a corner.

The Space Stone.

"That's it!"

Odin looked at the Space Stone, nostalgia appearing in his eyes. "When I was young, I used to play with it alongside several of my brothers!"

"But now..."

Odin's mood sank. Ever since becoming God King, his brothers had all left Asgard, their whereabouts unknown.

To be honest, he was not happy being the God King.

Ignoring Odin's melancholy, Zhang Yang picked up the Space Stone from the ground and sent his consciousness into it.

After spending some time drawing out the power of space and absorbing it into his Dimension Heart, a thought suddenly occurred to him.

At this point in time, if he left a spiritual imprint on the Time Stone, what would happen after he returned to the future?

He acted as soon as the thought arose.

Zhang Yang sent his consciousness into the Space Stone. Just as he was about to leave an imprint, he discovered that the gem seemed to have been activated by some force!

It was his own power!

Outside.

Odin had just sorted out his feelings when he saw Zhang Yang holding the Space Stone, green and azure light flashing alternately around him.

Not to mention, he looked rather good like that.

Odin was about to call out to Zhang Yang when Bor, who had appeared beside him at some unknown time, stopped him.

"Do not disturb him!"

Bor's tone was filled with amazement. "This period is very important to him!"

"Very important?"

Odin scratched his head. He had yet to develop the especially mature demeanor he would have in the future. He was currently in his adolescence. "How important?"

"More important than all of Asgard, more important than the entire Nine Realms!"

Bor's tone was complicated. "Odin, my son, remember this!"

"Though the Infinity Stones are immensely powerful, their holders always bring disaster."

"Whether to themselves, to others, or even to the entire universe."

"It is all disaster."

Odin nodded vaguely. He did not yet understand the meaning of those words, but a seed had already been planted in his heart.

"Stay here and protect him!"

Bor suddenly grew weak again. "Sigh, I'm getting old. My body grows weaker by the day!"

"I'm leaving!"

Bor waved at Odin and shuffled away.

Odin scratched his head. Though he wanted to wake Zhang Yang, he still listened to Bor and stood guard beside him.

The Space Dimension.

Zhang Yang stared blankly at the imprint that had appeared out of thin air.

This imprint was the one he had left before. When he had wanted to leave an imprint on this Space Stone, a flash of green light had passed, and this imprint from the future had simply appeared.

The power of space rapidly replenished him. Zhang Yang could feel that as long as he wished it, he could return now!

But there was something he wanted to figure out.

Had he changed time, or had this always been predetermined? Had he always been destined to arrive at this point in time?

If he had changed time, then what would happen to his original timeline after returning? Would there be changes?

If this had always been predetermined, did that mean that no matter what he did, it had all already been arranged?

Thinking that everything he was about to do might be driven and guided by an utterly imperceptible force made Zhang Yang feel rather displeased.

After some thought, Zhang Yang left another imprint in the Space Dimension. The two imprints had the same effect, like duplicates of one another.

After finishing, Zhang Yang withdrew from the Space Dimension and tossed the gem to Odin.
