Mystique looked around at everything and finally understood what had happened, a trace of surprise in her eyes.
She had not expected Magneto to come in person. After all, he had not visited this school in decades.
However, she knew very well that Magneto had mainly come for Rogue.
Finding her was merely incidental.
Magneto had always followed the laws of survival of the fittest and natural selection. He would abandon useless teammates without the slightest hesitation.
Magneto recognized Mystique at a glance, even though she had changed her appearance.
After all, they had spent decades together.
Magneto said calmly, "Come over, Mystique."
He had not expected Mystique to be neither kidnapped nor controlled.
Su Zheng turned to look at Mystique, amusement in his eyes and a faint smile curling his lips.
If Mystique chose to go with Magneto now, she would no longer be qualified to serve under him.
The scene immediately fell silent as everyone watched Mystique.
Mystique hesitantly looked at Magneto, then at Su Zheng in front of her.
Her face was filled with conflict.
But she soon made up her mind and stood still where she was.
That had already made her intentions clear.
There was no helping it. Su Zheng knew all of their plans. If he told the heads of state at the summit about them—
then the mutants would truly be finished.
There were already many senior government officials who believed mutants should be strictly monitored and controlled.
If it was discovered that mutants intended to do something like this, then monitoring and control would be the least of their problems.
Besides, she wanted to know how Su Zheng planned to become invincibly powerful and protect mutants.
Though she felt it was somewhat impossible.
But Su Zheng was very likely Magneto's child. If she stayed here, it did not count as betrayal, did it?
When Magneto saw this, he was completely dumbfounded, his eyes turning utterly blank.
What was going on?
Had Mystique betrayed him?
But how could that be?
What kind of joke was this?
This was far too absurd.
They had spent decades together, more than half their lives.
From their twenties until now, when they were both in their seventies.
Magneto then looked at Su Zheng. He was no fool; how could he fail to see that Mystique's decision—
was entirely because of the man before him.
And Mystique had even instinctively stood behind that man!
Had Mystique become his subordinate already?
He had only gone two days without seeing Mystique, and his subordinate had defected?
Then what had the decades he and Mystique spent together amounted to?
Su Zheng was fairly satisfied with Mystique's decision. Though it was certainly not because she was loyal to him—
it was enough.
Professor X looked at Mystique, then at Su Zheng.
When he had first seen Mystique emerge, he had thought it was over—Mystique was leaving him again.
He never would have expected Mystique not to leave with Magneto.
Though it surprised him, he was in quite a good mood at the moment.
He could not help but regard Su Zheng more highly.
He was also quite curious about how Su Zheng had managed it.
Just then, two of Magneto's subordinates stepped out of the shadows.
One was Sabretooth, and the other was Toad.
Sabretooth was a burly, imposing man with exceptionally long hair and beard. He could extend claws from all ten fingers and possessed the ability to heal injuries rapidly.
Toad's tongue was exceptionally nimble. It could extend four or five meters, was incredibly powerful, and full of elasticity.
They were the two subordinates Magneto had brought with him. He had brought only those two.
After all, having more people was useless against Professor X.
With a single sweep of his gaze, Professor X could control everyone except him.
Wolverine saw his half-brother, Sabretooth.
He immediately glared furiously at Magneto, his face twisted in ferocity as a beastlike growl escaped his throat.
This was the bastard who had sent his own brother to deal with him.
And now he wanted to take Rogue away. It was unforgivable!
Rogue had a fairly close relationship with Wolverine.
Wolverine extended six Adamantium claws and charged straight at Magneto.
However, he went quickly and came back even faster.
With just a wave of Magneto's hand, Wolverine was flung through the air like a cannonball, flying right toward Su Zheng.
Su Zheng smiled helplessly. He had originally intended to sit back and watch the tigers fight.
He then raised his right hand.
Wolverine froze in midair as if pinned in place, suspended before Su Zheng.
Wolverine turned back and gave him a grateful look, but said nothing.
Yet this scene stunned everyone.
"Is that the ability to control magnetic fields?"
"How can he be the same as Magneto?"
"Could he possibly..."
Magneto's aged eyes were filled with shock as he stared unblinkingly at Su Zheng.
He had clearly sensed the power of a magnetic field just now.
Su Zheng had not used some other power to restrain Wolverine. It was a magnetic field.
But how was that possible?
Magneto looked at Su Zheng in confusion, his lips moving as he said,
"Could you be..."
Su Zheng raised his hand and quickly said,
"Hey, hey, hey..."
The moment Magneto opened his mouth, Su Zheng knew what he was about to say.
Just then, the system's voice sounded in his mind.
[Divine Choice activated.] [One: Tell Magneto, "I'm your father. I've actually lived for over a hundred years. When you were born, I was thrilled beyond words outside the delivery room."] [Reward: Magneto's cape.] [Two: Magneto, hand your Brotherhood over to me. I'll conquer the world for you from now on, while you can retire in peace.] [Reward: Constitution doubles from its original foundation.] [Three: Magneto, you piece of trash, do you dare fight me one-on-one for three hundred rounds? I'll show you who the true king of Magnetic Field Control is.] [Reward: Magnetic Field Control ability increases by ten percent.]
The third reward really was quite good, but fighting Magneto one-on-one right now—
was that not simply seeking death?
System, were you in such a hurry to change hosts?
I was not choosing that.
The first option was downright fatal.
You actually dared to say something like that.
It was even more suicidal than the third option.
Even Professor X would not be able to save me.
The second reward was decent.
He already possessed Captain America's physical abilities.
Captain America's physical abilities were roughly five times those of an ordinary human.
If his constitution doubled again, would that not make it ten times?
Not bad, not bad.
Now he had a shield and physical abilities greater than Captain America's.
Did that make him an upgraded Captain America?
Probably not. After all, he did not possess Captain America's combat abilities.
As for fighting techniques, he knew nothing except wild flailing.
"I choose 2!"
