But Xu Changqing acted as though he had returned home. He first glanced at where the Lightning-Struck Tree had been before, and only after seeing that nothing remained did he turn his gaze back to the massive Demon Dragon carcass before him.
Just then, the Demonwood Water-Evasion Boat beneath his feet trembled.
Before Xu Changqing could react, rootlets like tentacles suddenly emerged from it. At tremendous speed, they wrapped around part of the carcass, then devoured and absorbed it bit by bit as though feeding.
Xu Changqing was not surprised by this sight. He knew the Demonwood Water-Evasion Boat possessed several abilities, one of which was Devouring Growth.
That meant anything it could devour could become food for the vessel, or, put another way, nourishment for its evolution.
What truly surprised him was that it could devour even the Demon Dragon's remains.
He recalled that when he had come last time, this behavior had not seemed to trigger.
But it did not matter.
The Demon Dragon's remains were meaningless left here anyway. They might as well merge with the Demonwood Water-Evasion Boat. Perhaps they could even add some effect, or even a special ability.
The only issue was that the devouring speed was a little slow.
