Background

Ye Bufan was originally a Dao Yi Grotto-Heaven special recruit valued for his Ancient Sacred Body, but the sect could not restore his severed cultivation path. While still without a realm, he was bullied by ten Vein Opening Realm cultivators. He endured blades and Mystic Tools with his body, then killed all ten attackers before being left crippled by Elder Wang's intervention 6 7.

Hua Yunfei saved him from Elder Wang, empowered him to deliver the killing blow, and recognized his Peak Saint-grade cultivation talent, Golden Destiny, and exceptional combat aptitudes. Ye Bufan accepted Hua Yunfei as his master after declaring, “I am the Sacred Body,” an act that immediately drew heavenly lightning toward him 7 8.

At Daoyuan Peak, Hua Yunfei reopened Ye Bufan's path, taught him cultivation, and bestowed the Ancient Sacred Body-exclusive Heavenly Emperor Scripture. Ye Bufan advanced at extraordinary speed, becoming Hua Yunfei's eldest disciple and receiving the freedom to enter and leave Daoyuan Peak at will 10 13 16.

As his strength rose, Ye Bufan was entrusted with Daoyuan Peak's formations and authority whenever Hua Yunfei was absent. He treated this position as a duty rather than a privilege, guarding Huang Xuan's seclusion, restraining Jia Duobao from causing trouble, and taking responsibility for the younger disciples 40 58 95.

Ye Bufan's Sacred Body later awakened fully, but its broken path exacted a price. During his Saint King tribulation, the curse in his bloodline erupted, covering him in dark runes and nearly ending his advance. Backer Sect ancestors moved against the Life Forbidden Zones in search of a permanent solution rather than allowing him to face the same mortal danger at every tribulation 230 333 334.

A separate incarnation known as the Heavenly Emperor—later revealed to be Ye Bufan from another timeline—appeared after his true body had died in that timeline.
