Need to take another day off; it was a false alarm, but my fingers are numb from the pricks
For the past few weeks, even the lightest touch on my feet had felt like being pricked by needles.
My mom said it was peripheral neuritis, possibly diabetes.
Come to think of it, I hadn't tested my blood sugar in ages, so I did it this morning before getting a nucleic acid test.
But because I'd forgotten how to use it, there wasn't enough blood. During the countdown, I squeezed in a little more, and it came out to 12.1.
It scared the hell out of me.
I told my mom I had diabetes, but I couldn't quite believe it, so I tested again. 5.1—normal.
Then I switched hands and got 4.8.
Even though it was a false alarm, I'd pricked myself pretty deeply the first time, and now both index fingers hurt to the core.
It really scared me to death!!
All I could think at the time was, It's over, I won't be able to drink Coke anymore...
Though with the recent cold weather messing up my stomach, I hadn't had sweet drinks—or even water cooler than lukewarm—for quite a while.
