"Nice hit!!" Seidou's stands erupted in enthusiastic cheers.

My luck has always been pretty good!! Sendou sighed inwardly as he reached second base.

"If he'd tried to hit that pitch high, it probably would've gone foul!" Coach Kataoka showed a rare faint smile.

Seeing his prized student deliver a hit like that, setting aside the outcome of the game, any coach would have felt gratified.

Their goal was never to completely prevent Sendou from hitting a home run. They wanted to challenge his patience with trickier pitches.
