Originally, Jerry had stored over six thousand Little Red Stars when he entered this time.
According to his original plan, that would have been enough to last two months.
However, because he had been sorted into Slytherin, he had no choice but to study with all his might and absorb vast amounts of magical knowledge. This meant he had to consume large numbers of Little Red Stars every day to activate the "Refreshing Mind" function.
As a result, in just eleven days, his six thousand-plus Little Red Stars had dwindled to barely thirty.
Setting aside the lower consumption on the first day, ever since school started, he had activated Mind Refresh for around three hours every night to study.
During the day, he also activated Mind Refresh intermittently for a total of four or five hours.
So on average, he activated Mind Refresh for seven to eight hours a day.
Activating Mind Refresh consumed one Little Red Star per minute—sixty per hour, and nearly five hundred for seven or eight hours.
Over eleven days, simply activating Refreshing Mind had consumed nearly five thousand Little Red Stars.
On top of that, every day he stayed in the Small World cost him a fixed hundred. In eleven days, his six thousand-plus Little Red Stars had been nearly exhausted.
At midnight tonight, if he did not have enough Little Red Stars to deduct, he would be forcibly returned to the main world.
Fortunately, although his frantic studying over this period had consumed a great many Little Red Stars, he had gained a lot as well.
Not only had he learned practical spells, but his magical knowledge and command of magic had also improved tremendously.
Now, all he lacked was a flying broomstick.
Unfortunately, he was not in Gryffindor, so he had no way of getting a free Nimbus 2000 from McGonagall. He could only think of another solution.
At first, he had planned to secretly "borrow" one of the training broomsticks used in Flying Class, then bring it back and return it when he went back.
But after asking around, he learned that those training broomsticks were stored near the faculty quarters where Madam Hooch lived.
Stealing a flying broomstick from the faculty quarters? That would be courting death!
After thinking it over, he decided he had to find another way.
He carefully searched through the contents of the several movies in his mind, especially after activating Mind Refresh.
At last, he found a place in his memories where he could obtain a flying broomstick for free.
That was Hogwarts' Room of Requirement!
He remembered that in the movies, when either Goyle or Crabbe cast the Fiendfyre Curse in the Room of Requirement, Harry and the other two had found three flying broomsticks and escaped on them.
And the Room of Requirement should have been on the eighth floor.
Carefully pushing open the stone door, Jerry stepped into the basement corridor.
He followed the corridor back to the first floor, then took the grand marble staircase from the first floor to the second.
Above the second floor were the one hundred and forty-two shifting magical staircases. Though those staircases loved to move about, the way they connected and shifted followed certain patterns.
The prefects had already told them about those patterns on the first day of school.
Portraits hung all over the walls around the staircases. Most of the people in them were already asleep, and the few who were still awake did not react much when they saw Jerry.
Students breaking the rules to wander the castle at night happened every year.
Before them had been Harry's father's little group, then the Weasley Twins, and after that would come Harry's trio.
So long as he was not caught red-handed by the patrolling Filch or a teacher, there would be no problem.
Jerry also understood that the portraits on the walls were actually Dumbledore's eyes and ears. Dumbledore probably knew roughly everything that happened in the castle.
But he was not worried.
Dumbledore would not interfere over students wandering the castle at night. Besides, Jerry was not going to the library to steal forbidden books. He was merely looking for the Room of Requirement on the eighth floor, so even if Dumbledore knew, it would not be a big deal.
Stepping onto the magical staircases, Jerry headed toward the eighth floor as cautiously as possible.
However, just as he stepped onto the eighth-floor corridor, a small figure appeared on the railing.
Looking closely, he saw that it was Filch's pet cat, Mrs. Norris.
"Meow!"
After Mrs. Norris meowed at him, she turned to go report to Filch. Jerry hurriedly pulled out a secret weapon he had prepared long ago from his left pocket and threw it at her.
Thud!
A small trout, grilled to a golden brown, landed in front of Mrs. Norris.
Seeing the grilled fish before her, Mrs. Norris immediately stopped walking.
"Meow~?"
She looked at Jerry hesitantly, as if asking, Are you trying to bribe me? Am I the kind of cat who can be swayed so easily?
The corner of Jerry's mouth lifted. He pulled another golden-brown grilled trout from his right pocket and tossed it over.
Since she had not refused immediately, she was clearly tempted. As long as he increased the amount, there would not be much of a problem.
After all, what cat could refuse fish?
Sure enough, a moment later,
Jerry calmly walked past Mrs. Norris, who had her head down and was eating with relish, and headed toward where the Room of Requirement might be.
"Found it!"
Jerry's eyes lit up when he saw a huge tapestry hanging in the corridor.
At that moment, a Wizard on the tapestry was trying to teach a troll how to dance, only to be chased around in a panic by the troll swinging a club behind him.
If he remembered correctly, the blank wall opposite that enormous tapestry should have been the entrance to the Room of Requirement.
Since gaining Mind Refresh, Jerry had discovered that whenever he activated the function and tried hard to recall his memories from his previous life, many memories he had already forgotten would clearly reappear in his mind.
It had also allowed him to gradually recall all the Harry Potter movies he had watched in his previous life, along with related news, short videos, and bits of trivia.
He had seen the method for entering the Room of Requirement in one such bit of trivia in his previous life.
"I need the place where things are hidden!"
Jerry kept thinking about this as he walked past the blank wall three times in a row.
Click!
A very smooth door suddenly appeared out of thin air on the previously bare white wall.
"Nice!"
A smile appeared on Jerry's face. He grabbed the brass handle, pulled the door open, stepped over the threshold, and entered.
It was a room as large as a church, filled with countless items piled up like mountains, all hidden away by students who had once attended Hogwarts.
Most of them were useless things, such as bottles, hats, boxes, chairs, bats, and so on.
But there were also very useful things among them, like Jerry's main target for coming here—the flying broomstick!
