Karkaroff's wand-checking spell was completely useless against Jerry.

He no longer needed a wand, ring, or any other medium to fully unleash his strength and cast magic.

The main reason he still held a wand whenever he cast spells was to avoid frightening others.

After all, even Wizards who truly mastered wandless casting would not use it except under special circumstances, because its effects were far weaker than when using a wand.

Even top masters like Dumbledore, Grindelwald, and Voldemort normally held wands when casting spells.

"Impossible! Even an Exploding Charm couldn't possibly be that powerful. It couldn't blow through so many walls.

Those walls had all kinds of defensive spells placed on them. Someone must have secretly helped you. You must be cheating!"

Karkaroff stared at the dozens of walls pierced through by the spell, still stubbornly refusing to admit it.

Jerry's magical ability was indeed formidable. Anyone could tell from the spells he had cast in the first and second tasks.

But Karkaroff still could not—or rather, did not want to—believe that Jerry could accomplish something like this.

"Even a duck dead for years wouldn't have a harder beak than yours!"

Hearing Karkaroff continue to nitpick, the smile on Jerry's face gradually faded.

"Headmaster Karkaroff, do you really think my Exploding Charm can't be that powerful? Why don't you come down and experience it for yourself? Stand right in front of me. I'll use an Exploding Charm, and you can defend with whatever spell you like.

If you can still stand there unharmed after I cast it, I'll give the Triwizard Cup to your school. What do you say?"
