"My Remembrall!"
"Malfoy, do you want to fight?"
A burst of shouting dragged Jerry out of his ocean of magical knowledge.
He turned toward the commotion.
Little Malfoy had apparently gotten handsy while passing the Gryffindor table and snatched the Remembrall Neville's grandmother had sent him. Harry and Ron were standing up for Neville.
However, McGonagall arrived in time, and the conflict ended before it could reach its peak.
Closing his book, Jerry checked the time and got up to head for the Slytherin Dormitory.
He had Transfiguration that morning and had not yet fetched his textbook.
Some might think that since Jerry had memorized everything in the Transfiguration textbook and could already use all the spells in it, was there any point in attending class?
Jerry would tell them: of course there was!
It was like memorizing an entire math textbook and being able to make a preliminary use of its formulas through self-study, yet still needing to attend math class and listen to the teacher's explanations.
Besides, magic was no less complex than mathematics.
Under a teacher's instruction, many small details overlooked during self-study could be discovered. Teachers would also pass on knowledge, experience, and little tricks that the books never mentioned.
So Jerry took classes very seriously. He listened attentively in almost every lesson.
Only then could he lay a sufficiently solid foundation in magic.
"A towering building rises from level ground; every brick and tile is its foundation!"
If he wanted to become a top-tier wizard like Dumbledore, he absolutely could not do it without building a solid enough foundation.
Self-study, classes, and exchanging ideas with classmates—each was an indispensable brick or tile in constructing that towering building.
