"Drax, what are you talking about?"
Gamora rolled her eyes at Drax, then said gently to Mantis:
"Mantis, don't listen to him. You're not ugly. You're very cute."
"Gamora, and you call that not ugly?"
Drax looked utterly incredulous.
"You don't need to comfort me. I only found out today that I'm actually this ugly!"
Mantis touched Drax's body and discovered that the emotions he expressed were so sincere. Knowing that he was neither lying nor deliberately putting her down, she naturally concluded that she really was ugly.
Gamora would not let her touch her, so she could not sense Gamora's emotions and believed that Gamora was only trying to comfort her.
"It's all right. Actually, this is a blessing in disguise. If someone loves you despite how ugly you are, that means they must love what's inside you. Unlike beautiful people, who have no idea who they should trust!"
Drax's tone was full of feeling, as though the beautiful person he referred to was himself.
Mantis touched Drax again, felt the sincerity in his emotions, and seemed somewhat comforted.
"Yes, perhaps I should be glad for my ugliness."
In Mantis's eyes, Drax was the only one among them willing to let her touch him and read his emotions at any time. Ever since she had touched Star-Lord once, he had not dared let her touch him again.
Gamora, Nebula, Jerry, and Rocket would not let her read their emotions either.
Groot did not mind, but Groot's thoughts were too simple, so there were barely any emotions to read.
Only Drax not only did not mind her reading his emotions, but his words matched his heart completely. He spoke sincerely, never deceived her, and even comforted her.
That made her feel that Drax got along with her very well.
