Inside the palace, Ego had clearly noticed the anomaly outside the planet. He immediately mobilized all his Celestial Power, trying to break free from the black hole's pull.

However, before he could act, he was betrayed by his own son, Star-Lord.

"You old bastard! You actually killed my mother! I want you dead!"

Before Ego could figure out why Star-Lord, who had been fine just moments ago, had suddenly turned against him, Star-Lord spoke words that made his heart tremble.

"I know your weakness is the brain at the center of the planet. I'm going to blow your brains out and kill you for good!"

Ego no longer cared what the black hole outside, which was pulling in his planetary body, actually was. Nor did he care about moving the planet to escape it. He immediately gathered all his Celestial Power and launched an attack on Star-Lord.

He believed that even if his planetary body were swallowed by that black hole, nothing serious would happen given how powerful it was. But the brain at the center of the planet was his lifeline.

If his true body's brain was destroyed, he would die completely.
