At dusk, elderly people sat on benches in the park, enjoying the last glow of the setting sun. Young, beautiful mothers pushed strollers along the cobblestone paths. Office workers poured out of one office building after another, and the city instantly became crowded.
Yet on such an ordinary, mundane day, something extraordinary happened.
"It's here!"
Jerry, who was sitting atop The Shard, London's tallest building on the south bank of the Thames River, slowly rose to his feet and looked up at the sky.
The moment his words fell, the crimson sky was suddenly filled by an enormous head. Though calling it a head was not quite accurate—it looked more like the Six of Circles tile in mahjong, only magnified countless times.
That head belonged to none other than Celestial Prime Arishem. After arriving on Earth and sensing the metal connector in London, he lowered his head to look down.
"It really is huge!"
Looking at Arishem's head blotting out the sky, Jerry could not help but sigh.
Still, he was not particularly surprised. After all, he had been to Knowhere before, and Knowhere was actually built by hollowing out the head of a Celestial.
Click, click, click.
As Jerry marveled, the citizens below the building clearly noticed the anomaly in the sky as well. Yet rather than being particularly frightened, they pulled out their phones to record videos, take pictures, and post them on Twitter.
Having experienced incidents involving aliens, Demons, and the like, Earth's humans had gradually grown accustomed to strange phenomena appearing from time to time. They believed that even if something happened, the Super Heroes of the Avengers would always be able to resolve it.
