"It really disappeared!"

Peter walked to where the nuclear experiment machine had originally stood. Looking at the empty ground, he could not help reaching down to touch it.

He had always thought magic was fake, but now he felt that perhaps it was not entirely so.

"Everything is over. I'm sorry, Harry. I turned your investment into nothing and made you a laughingstock."

Otto stared at the spot where the experimental equipment had vanished, then suddenly collapsed onto the floor. The mechanical octopus arms behind him seemed to sense their master's low spirits and drooped as well.

"Doctor, it's not entirely your fault. Is there really no hope at all?"

Harry stepped forward. Though he was equally dejected, he still clung to a final shred of hope.

He had originally been furious that Otto had stubbornly insisted on continuing despite the experiment going wrong. But at the final moment, Otto had been willing to sacrifice himself to ensure their safe retreat, and Harry could no longer bring himself to blame him.

Still, deep down, he wanted to know whether the artificial sun truly was impossible.

He did not lack money, and he had not invested in Otto's artificial sun project to make a profit. He had only wanted the artificial sun project to make the Osborn Group famous throughout the world, perhaps even remembered by all humanity.
