On the Brink of War

"Now that we have the Codex, let's begin transforming Earth!"

Knowing that the Codex's genes were inside Clark's cells, Zod waved his hand and shut off the virtual screen monitoring Jerry and Clark, then ordered the Kryptonian Warrior piloting the warship, "Activate the Genesis Engine!"

At Zod's command, a massive machine originally mounted beneath the warship suddenly detached and fell toward Earth's Indian Ocean, while the Kryptonian Warship itself flew toward Metropolis.

The Genesis Engine was a specialized Kryptonian device used to conquer and transform planets.

All it took was deploying the engine on one side of a planet and activating the specialized Phantom Projector on the other. This would vastly increase the entire planet's mass while creating a particle environment suitable for Kryptonians to survive in.

Zod's warship movements were naturally discovered by the human governments of Earth, which had been monitoring them through satellites.

Only then did the human governments realize that Zod's talk of peace had all been lies. A war between Earth and the Kryptonians was simply unavoidable.

Likewise, Jerry, who had been pretending to persuade Clark, had used his powerful mental strength to perceive everything happening inside the ship. He stood up and said, "All right, Zod has stopped monitoring us. We can begin!"

Hearing this, Clark immediately followed Jerry's plan and knocked on the room's door, drawing over Faora and the two Kryptonian soldiers standing outside.

"I've thought it through. I'm willing to hand over the Codex, as long as the general guarantees that my family on Earth will be safe."

"Very good, Kal. That is a wise choice."

Faora had just received orders from General Zod to take Clark to the laboratory and extract the Codex. If Clark resisted, she was to bring his corpse instead.

Since Clark was now willing to join
