After breakfast, Turtle Hermit took Jerry to the village on the island and had him help the farmers plow the fields barehanded to strengthen his arms. Then he took him to construction sites, where he used nothing but his body in place of machinery to do all kinds of work, exercising every muscle while earning a little spending money.
After lunch, following an hour and a half of rest, Turtle Hermit brought him to a lake inhabited by a gigantic shark and made him repeatedly swim for his life through the lake while being chased by the shark.
Lastly came reaction training. He tied him beneath a tree, knocked down the beehive overhead, and had him dodge the hornets' attacks.
These exercises would naturally have been easy if he used magic, but with Sealing Magic restricting him to relying solely on his body, Jerry was honestly exhausted half to death by evening.
However, after the first day, he could clearly feel that his control over his body had improved, and he had sensed the faintest trace of ki.
And so, for the time that followed, he continued training under Turtle Hermit.
Every morning involved milk deliveries, though the destinations differed and so did the training content.
Sometimes it was in the desert, sometimes atop sheer cliffs where he could fall at any moment, and sometimes in raging rivers. There were all kinds of terrain and all kinds of difficulty.
Jerry could not help marveling at how broad the milk shop owner's business scope was. No wonder they had to deliver milk by helicopter.
The training at noon and in the afternoon also changed according to the changes in his body.
When he finally adapted to a full day of training, Turtle Hermit strapped a twenty-kilogram turtle shell to his back.
