Displayed within the crystal ball was the scene of Goku and the others trying to snatch the bell from Mr. Popo, only to be effortlessly toyed with by him in every possible way.
Even Goku, the strongest among them, had a power level of less than 230, far below Mr. Popo's power level of over 1,000.
Passing Mr. Popo's test before receiving training at Kami's Lookout was a long-standing tradition. Jerry naturally kept that tradition, and besides, watching from behind the scenes was rather entertaining.
After a round of attempts, Goku, Tien Shinhan, Chiaotzu, Krillin, and Yamcha joined forces, only to discover that they could not even touch Mr. Popo, much less take the bell from him.
It made them realize that there were many people in this world stronger than them—not just Piccolo the Great Demon King, and not just Jerry.
Even the caretaker who watered the flowers at Kami's Lookout was someone they could never hope to match.
"Looks like none of you passed my test and took the bell."
Mr. Popo stood before Goku and the others, shaking the bell in his hand.

Krillin panted heavily and dropped onto the ground.
Kami's Lookout was far too high up. Moving around here was much harder than on the ground.
