"Knock, knock, knock."
After glancing up at the dorm room number, Tang Wulin raised his hand and rapped on the door three times, neither too hard nor too softly.
A few seconds later, the door opened from inside.
"Click."
Huang Feng'er stood in the doorway, dressed in her school uniform.
Her hair was still arranged as it had been during the day, falling neatly behind her shoulders. She wore the uniform of Eastsea Academy's Intermediate Division and looked as though she had just risen from her desk. Warm light spilled from the room behind her.
"Hm? What's up, Wulin?"
Huang Feng'er glanced at the dark sky beyond the window. Only the corridor's dim yellow wall lamps were lit; night had fully settled outside.
She turned back to Tang Wulin with a puzzled look, her gaze lingering on his face as though checking whether something serious had happened.
"Can you come to the Spirit Pagoda with me, sis?"
Confusion crossed Huang Feng'er's face, and her brows shifted slightly as she ran through the possibilities.
Even after thinking it over, she could not imagine why Tang Wulin needed to visit the Spirit Pagoda.
For one thing, the Spirit Ascension Platform had not reopened, and he had no need to choose a Soul Spirit right now.
He could not be going to pick out a Soul Tool or other equipment either. The academy did not allow those in competitions, and his recent forging orders had nothing to do with the Spirit Pagoda.
She even went back over everything Tang Wulin had said lately, searching for some mention of the Spirit Pagoda, but she still could not find a reasonable explanation.
"Hmm... Give me a moment. I'll change first."
Though she remained puzzled, Huang Feng'er trusted her younger brother, so she nodded and agreed.
