"I'm sorry, Master. What I said earlier about there being no one from the Church in Clear Lotus City was inaccurate. In the northern district, there lives a retired magical girl in seclusion. Although she isn't Prayer Type, she once held a fairly high position in the Church and should know a lot of the information you need," Tan Xiang said.
"The northern district? That sounds pretty far." Li Xuan nodded, thinking that perhaps he could capture her and interrogate her for useful information.
"No, calling her a girl might be inappropriate. More accurately, she should be called a magical young wife," Tan Xiang corrected herself.
"A young wife?" Li Xuan's eyes immediately lit up.
"That's right. She has a daughter. I heard she retired because she became pregnant," Tan Xiang added.
"She has a daughter too?!" Li Xuan's eyes shone even brighter.
"Y-yes, but her lover passed away before their daughter was born. She raised the child alone, and even refused the subsidies the Church offered her," Tan Xiang continued.
"And she's a widow too?!" Li Xuan could no longer contain his excitement. His mind had already begun running wild, nearly filling in an entire story.
"Yes, Master. You seem... very interested?" Tan Xiang asked tentatively.
"Hmph. If I laid a hand on a widow and her orphaned daughter, how would I be any different from Cao Cao? Enough of that. Give me the address now. I'll bring some gifts and pay her a visit." Li Xuan wiped the smile off his face and spoke with utter seriousness.
"I'm sorry, but I don't know the exact address. I only heard that it's somewhere around Sunshine Street... But you must be careful. Before retiring, that lady's magic power was Grade A. A magical girl's power gradually fades with age, but no one knows how much she has left."
"Grade A?" Li Xuan was somewhat surprised. His Evil Energy was only Grade C+ right now, and he had struggled greatly even against Grade B Tan Xiang. Was he really about to face a Grade A magical girl now? He wasn't the protagonist of some four-character webnovel. Why was he being made to challenge opponents above his level every day?
Still, Tan Xiang had said that the woman's power was declining. As long as the gap wasn't too overwhelming, Li Xuan was confident he could take her down through tactics and skills.
"Don't worry. I have absolutely no ill intentions this time. She's already a widow, after all. I can't let her remain a living widow." After saying that, Li Xuan eagerly saved the address on his phone and rushed out without even eating breakfast.
The southern district where Li Xuan lived was part of the old city. Though rather prosperous, it always felt crowded and chaotic. Due to its age, buildings from various eras stood everywhere. The population was dense, the roads crisscrossed in all directions, and the urban planning was a mess born of years of patchwork fixes.
The newly developed northern district was the complete opposite. Its roads were broad and orderly, its scenery beautiful, and its air fresh. And because the land was plentiful and the population sparse, housing prices were dirt cheap. If transportation hadn't been so inconvenient, Li Xuan would have wanted to move here himself.
Since the address Tan Xiang had sent only specified the street, Li Xuan bought some snacks along the way, eating as he walked and taking in the scenery.
After casually sightseeing all the way there, Li Xuan finally arrived at the marked location: Sunshine Street.
Once he arrived, Li Xuan was surprised to discover that this was a scenic villa district. Although land in the northern district was cheap, the use of space on this street was downright extravagant. Every villa stood independently, with its own walls and courtyard, and the distances between them were enormous. They were so far apart that even if someone erected a flagpole on their roof, its shadow wouldn't reach the neighboring yard wall.
Most surprising of all, every villa had a different architectural style. Some were European, some were Japanese-style small buildings. Li Xuan had no idea whether that was the work of the designers or the personal tastes of the homeowners.
In any case, it was obvious that the people living here were wealthy, and most likely influential as well.
Thinking that he was about to meet the mistress of a wealthy household, Li Xuan's expression grew more solemn. What kind of architectural style would that magical young wife's home have? Would the layout be compact? Would it be deep or shallow? Would the expansion joints be wide or narrow? Those were all things he ought to consider as someone who had studied civil engineering in his previous life.
The Hunting Radar currently had a radius of one hundred meters, so Li Xuan treated himself like a mobile radar and carefully searched along the street for traces of his prey.
When he reached a small park, Li Xuan suddenly spotted a group of middle school girls walking toward him from afar, laughing and playing together. Though they were still a long way off, Li Xuan's system-enhanced eyesight clearly made out their youthful, energetic figures. Since it was summer vacation, nearly all of them wore their own clothes, and some even had makeup on as they strolled beautifully down the street.
Perhaps because they were well-nourished, they might have looked young, but their bodies had already developed immature curves. One tall blonde girl in particular had a pair of breasts so imposing that even grown women would feel ashamed in comparison. Other than her somewhat youthful face, she exuded the aura of a mature beauty.
"Girls these days really develop well," Li Xuan remarked as he watched.
Just as he admired them from afar, the system suddenly issued a notification:
[Magical girl detected nearby] [Distance: 99 meters] [Detailed information can be displayed after visual lock-on]
"Excellent! I finally caught one!" Li Xuan hurried a few steps closer and fixed his gaze on the girls in the distance. When his eyes settled on the tall girl he had noticed earlier, the system issued another notification:
[Magical girl locked on] [Name: Alulu] [Magic Power Level: Grade D] [Type: Fantasy Type] [Height: 170 cm] [Cup Size: D]
"She's actually a D? Doesn't that make her bigger than Qi Mo?" Li Xuan was startled. He had never expected her to be a full cup size larger than his estimate. With eyes capable of distinguishing male and female flies from ten meters away, this was truly a colossal mistake.
To make up for that mistake, Li Xuan immediately stepped forward and used one of his favorite skills on the girls.
"Mind Interference: Group Hypnosis!"
The Proper Use of Hypnosis
The effects of Mind Interference were immediate.
Because ordinary people had extremely low resistance to Mind Interference, the girls fell into a dazed hypnotic state within moments. Alulu, a Grade D magical girl, had some resistance, but as Li Xuan approached, she too became increasingly dazed and didn't even have a chance to transform.
"You will ignore Alulu and keep walking. Act as if nothing happened," Li Xuan ordered.
The girls immediately resumed their laughter and conversation, continuing onward while leaving the vacant-eyed Alulu standing where she was, as though she had never been part of their group in the first place.
"Mind Interference is this powerful?" Even Li Xuan was surprised. He had previously used this move only on relatively strong magical girls, so he had thought its effects were quite limited. He hadn't expected that, when used on ordinary people, it could produce results straight out of a hypnosis comic—almost complete control over their minds.
Seeing that no one was nearby, Li Xuan walked closer to admire Alulu's youthful, energetic figure.
From a distance, Li Xuan hadn't seen her clearly. Now that he was close, he realized Alulu's blonde hair wasn't dyed at all. She had the naturally blonde hair and blue eyes of a Nordic girl, with deep-set eyes, a high nose bridge, strikingly defined features, and a pale complexion unlike that of locals. Her dazzling golden hair cascaded from the top of her head to her waist like a gleaming waterfall. The full breasts exposed beneath her collar looked as plump and juicy as ripe peaches, making one want to take a bite.
Considering that there were unlikely to be any other magical girls in the area, Li Xuan could almost certainly conclude that Alulu was the daughter of the lady Tan Xiang had mentioned.
"Alulu, turn around and come with me," Li Xuan ordered.
Alulu turned around blankly, but she didn't follow him. It seemed that even a Grade D magical girl had some resistance to Mind Interference. Since someone could appear at any moment, Li Xuan had no choice but to use his tentacles to carry her to a secluded place.
He could have directly fed Alulu Fallen Blood and obtained a defeat CG, but his target was clearly not just the daughter. Considering that the mother had once been a Grade A magical girl beyond his reach, Li Xuan decided to continue with his slow, subtle approach and refrain from letting Alulu undergo Demonfall for the time being.
"Listen, Alulu. Everything I'm about to tell you, you must treat as something that truly happened. Understand?" As he spoke, Li Xuan stroked Alulu's head and added another dose of Mind Interference.
Interference at point-blank range was clearly stronger than interference from afar. Alulu nodded vaguely, seeming much more obedient than before.
"Who lives in your home now?" Li Xuan asked.
"My mom and me. No one else," Alulu answered in a childish voice completely unlike her appearance.
"Good. Listen carefully: I'm a new teacher at your school, and I'm here for a home visit. So, in a moment, you'll take me to your house. Do you understand?"
Alulu nodded again.
"Is there anything you like?"
"I like playing Genshin Impact."
"Holy shit, Genshin—"
"What did you say?" Alulu frowned. The hypnotic effect seemed on the verge of collapse.
"Nothing, nothing. If you like it, stick with it. What you love is your life." Li Xuan hurriedly added another dose of Mind Interference to Alulu and never mentioned Genshin again.
Only after seeing Alulu's expression calm down did Li Xuan continue. "Then let's establish this: before summer vacation ends, you stole valuable items from your classmates at school to top up your game account. I caught you in the act, and now you're facing expulsion. This home visit is also about that matter. Do you understand?"
"I understand," Alulu said blankly.
"Okay. I'm restoring your self-awareness now, but the hypnotic effect will remain. So you'll still firmly believe everything that just happened." Satisfied with Alulu's response, Li Xuan snapped his fingers, restoring her consciousness while Mind Interference continued to affect her thoughts.
"Teacher, why are we here? Aren't we going to my house?" Alulu's eyes changed from vacant to confused as she lifted her head and looked at Li Xuan.
"Sorry, it's my first time here, so I don't know the way very well. Could you lead me there?" Li Xuan asked.
"Sure, but Teacher Li... can't we really keep that matter from my mom? I've always been a good girl. I really only did something like that because I lost my head for a moment. Please forgive me just this once," Alulu pleaded.
"I know you're a good girl, but what you did this time was too serious. We'll have to talk with your mother before deciding how to handle it," Li Xuan said, pretending to be helpless.
"Okay... I'll admit my mistake properly." Looking like a child who had done something wrong, Alulu dejectedly led Li Xuan toward her home.
Alulu's home was at the end of Sunshine Street. What greeted them was a yard almost entirely filled with small white flowers, beautiful as though it had been blanketed by snow. Nestled amid the sea of flowers was a very modern small house. It looked slightly smaller than the neighboring homes, yet far more refined. The building had large floor-to-ceiling windows with excellent lighting and two terraces at different heights. The whole residence looked like several nested square boxes, with a distinctly artistic feel.
When they reached Alulu's front door, Li Xuan's Hunting Radar had already detected the presence of a magical girl. It appeared his guess had been right. Alulu truly was the daughter of that former Grade A magical girl.
"Do you know your mother is a magical girl?" Li Xuan casually asked as they walked down the path through the white flowers.
"A magical girl? I'm a magical girl, but my mom isn't," Alulu answered in confusion.
Li Xuan nodded. The hypnosis was still in effect, so Alulu couldn't lie to him. It seemed she truly didn't know her mother's identity.
After the two went upstairs, Alulu reached out and knocked on the door.
"Mom, I'm home!" Alulu called loudly.
"Coming—" A calm yet slightly seductive voice came from inside. It was clearly the voice of a dependable adult woman. Looking at Alulu's pretty face and full chest, Li Xuan had already imagined a graceful mature beauty who still retained her charm.
A few minutes later, the door opened, and a petite little girl stood before Li Xuan. Her blonde hair was wet beneath the bath towel wrapped around her, still dripping water, as though she had just finished bathing. Her slightly baby-fat cheeks were delicate as carved jade, her skin so tender it seemed it might break with a puff of air, and her eyes were as crystalline as high-purity sapphires. She looked exactly like a living porcelain doll.
The little girl wore a loose bathrobe that had clearly just been thrown on. Its belt wasn't tied, leaving her completely flat figure exposed before Li Xuan. From her collarbones to her chest, from her shallow navel to her flat stomach, every inch of her skin was exceptionally fair—far smoother even than Alulu's.
Could Alulu have lied? Did she actually have a younger sister at home?
The Mature Daughter and the Little Girl Mother
"Ah! Why didn't you tell me we had a guest?" A few seconds later, the little girl finally reacted. She cried out and hurriedly pulled her bathrobe shut, covering her body.
"Could this be your mother?" Li Xuan was stunned. The little girl's voice indeed carried a maturity and seductiveness completely at odds with her body, but his mind simply couldn't connect the petite, adorable girl before him with the word "mother."
Yet there was no denying it when the system issued a notification at that moment:
[Magical girl locked on] [Name: Lilika] [Magic Power Level: Grade C] [Type: Battle Type] [Height: 152 cm] [Cup Size: A]
A 170-centimeter daughter and a 150-centimeter mother... The daughter's a D-cup while the mother is an A-cup? The daughter has a mature body and a little-girl voice, while the mother has a mature voice and a little-girl body. Did they install the operating system backward or something? Li Xuan silently complained.
After Alulu explained that he was a new teacher from school, the little girl mother named Lilika politely invited him inside. After returning to her bedroom to change clothes, she quickly came back out and poured him coffee, treating him with great respect.
"I'm terribly sorry, Teacher Li. This child was so reckless. She didn't even tell me in advance that you were coming for a home visit, and I didn't prepare anything to entertain you with." Lilika spoke Chinese very well, without the slightest awkwardness in her pronunciation or intonation.
Lilika had changed into a black long dress with a sheer outer layer. She sat elegantly on the sofa, and with the sense of security provided by her clothes, her expression became much more composed, carrying the poise of a noblewoman. Yet seeing such a steady temperament on a youthful little-girl face still felt somewhat strange to Li Xuan. Once he got used to it, though, it had a unique charm.
You've already entertained me with your body. Li Xuan chuckled inwardly, but he didn't mention what had happened earlier. He merely exchanged a few pleasantries before naturally shifting the conversation to Alulu's performance at school.
Li Xuan knew nothing about Alulu's school life and could only make vague replies. Fortunately, he was a new teacher, so it was perfectly normal for him to be unfamiliar with certain details. Instead, he learned quite a bit about Alulu from Lilika. Her grades weren't ideal, she loved having fun, and while her character was good, she could sometimes be willful.
Li Xuan secretly memorized all that information, considering how to make his story sound more convincing later so that the magical young wife before him wouldn't grow suspicious.
When Li Xuan echoed the mother's concerns about Alulu's worrying grades, Lilika suddenly went into the study and brought out a hardcover book. She placed it on the table and pushed it toward Li Xuan. "Teacher Li, it's truly hard on you to make home visits during summer vacation. Please accept this book as a memento."
Li Xuan didn't understand why Lilika had suddenly given him a book at this moment. He took it and saw that it was Henrik Ibsen's A Doll's House. The materials were exceptionally fine, the cover as thick as a box, with a large gap at the spine.
"There is a house of gold in books. This is just a small token of my personal gratitude." Lilika smiled.
Those words immediately enlightened Li Xuan. He looked at the gap in the spine and saw that it was tightly stuffed with a roll of large-denomination banknotes. The amount probably exceeded his shop's daily revenue.
"Teacher Li, please take extra care with my daughter's grades. This child is good in every way, except that she loves playing too much." Lilika sighed, motherly concern appearing on her youthful face.
Li Xuan had become thoroughly fascinated by the contrast between her body and personality. According to the system's information, this little mother's little-girl level... No, her magic power level had declined to Grade C. A magical girl of that level was someone he could easily crush through sheer strength. But Li Xuan preferred enjoying the process of watching magical girls gradually fall into corruption until there was no turning back, so he still decided to slowly bring both mother and daughter into his possession through nonviolent means.
Since the conversation had reached this point, Li Xuan felt it was about time to lay his cards on the table.
He put on a stern expression and pushed the book back. "Madam, I'm truly sorry, but I can't accept this money. Judging by your reaction, I'm afraid you don't know what your daughter did at school."
"What did she do?" Lilika froze. She knew that teachers at her daughter's aristocratic school had large appetites. Could it be that the roll of cash she had offered wasn't enough to satisfy this new teacher?
"I'll be direct. She stole a classmate's phone and tried to sell it on a secondhand website. I caught her red-handed," Li Xuan said sternly.
"Stealing? How could that be possible! She's always been upright. She may fool around occasionally, but she wouldn't do something so foolish, would she? Teacher Li, have you made some kind of mistake?" Lilika stood up emotionally.
"With all due respect, children are always good in their mothers' eyes. Even when they make mistakes, those mistakes are instinctively overlooked. I admit that Alulu has good character, but what if she was tempted by some outside influence?" Li Xuan said calmly.
"Outside influence?" Lilika asked in confusion.
"For example, playing Genshin Impact," Li Xuan added.
Lilika looked toward her daughter and saw her lower her head guiltily, clutching the hem of her clothes with both hands as though she had truly committed some grave mistake.
"Y-you really stole someone else's things?!" Lilika asked in a trembling voice. She couldn't imagine that the daughter she had raised herself would steal just to top up a game. Had the allowance she gave her not been enough? Yet judging from her daughter's reaction, it didn't seem fake.
"Mom, I'm sorry... I don't know what I was thinking at the time..." Alulu didn't dare meet her mother's eyes, twisting a lock of hair around her fingers.
"You..." Lilika was so angry that she picked up the book from the table and threw it at her daughter, but Li Xuan swiftly caught it.
"Madam, please calm down."
