Early in the morning, Hyuga Satoru, who had tossed and turned all night, struggled out of bed and made his way to the Ninja Academy.
He had been so excited by awakening Electromagnetic Force last night that he had barely slept. His Byakugan had turned into panda eyes, the white pupils sandwiched between dark circles like a cream-filled cake.
"Hey! Satoru, why do you look so lifeless today?"
Anko looked at him curiously as she happily munched on a colorful rice dumpling.
"I'm fine."
After thinking for a moment, Anko suddenly leaned close to Hyuga Satoru and whispered, "Satoru, what did you mean yesterday when you said you wanted to live until the end of the story?"
Hyuga Satoru thought for a moment. "It means something impressive."
"Oh!" Seeing that Hyuga Satoru had no intention of answering, Anko pouted and stopped asking.
Looking at the colorful dumplings in Anko's hand, Hyuga Satoru pictured what she would look like decades later after turning into a sweet potato. He immediately felt sick. Anko was not stunningly beautiful now, but she was still quite pretty. How had she become an old lady in the future?
"Oh, right. Let me remind you of something: eat fewer dumplings."
"Why?" Anko took a bite of her dumpling and glanced at Hyuga Satoru. "Will I fail to live until the end of the story?"
Hyuga Satoru thought for a moment. "That would be better than living to the end."
Anko: ???
Just as Anko was about to say something, someone in the classroom suddenly shouted, "The homeroom teacher is here!" The noisy classroom instantly fell silent, and everyone sat up straight.
Fujino Daikichi walked to the podium with his textbooks and announced with a smile, "Students, this morning's lessons will mainly be theory. This afternoon, we'll have practical shuriken-throwing training. I hope everyone studies seriously."
A shuriken-throwing class? Hyuga Satoru's brows stirred. This was the perfect chance to test how well he could control shuriken with Electromagnetic Force. He had trained with kitchen utensils for a long time last night.
"Students, turn your textbook, Inheritance of the Will of Fire, to Chapter One, Section Three. We'll continue yesterday's lesson."
"Okaaay..."
The moment Hyuga Satoru saw the analysis of the Will of Fire in the textbook, he began to feel sleepy. He simply covered his head with the book, lay on the desk, and went to sleep.
Fujino Daikichi's eyelid twitched in anger at the sight, but he seemed to think of something and lightly shook his head.
"As a branch family member of the Hyuga Clan, the consequences of not working hard are miserable."
He looked toward another part of the classroom. A boy with bandages wrapped around his forehead and snow-white pupils was studying the textbook with a serious expression.
Fujino Daikichi smiled faintly. "Compared to him, Iroha is much more diligent."
Who knew how much time had passed before Hyuga Satoru stretched lazily. He was completely refreshed. Not only had the weakness he felt upon waking vanished, but his entire body felt full of strength.
Hyuga Satoru thought about it and guessed that his Electromagnetic Force had adjusted his Biological Magnetic Field while he rested, allowing him to recover faster.
He still could not actively control his own Biological Magnetic Field, but once he cultivated his Electromagnetic Force to a higher level, perhaps he would be able to regulate it on his own. His vitality might become incomparably vigorous, giving him a body like the First Hokage's that could rapidly heal from injuries.
That afternoon, Fujino Daikichi brought the students to the training ground and began teaching shuriken throwing, including how to exert force through the wrist and various throwing techniques.
Hyuga Satoru noticed that most of the clan children were inattentive, while the children from civilian backgrounds listened with great interest.
The reason was that clan descendants had generally received training from their elders before enrolling, while civilian children found it difficult to come into contact with such knowledge. They had never started from the same line.
No matter the era, civilians were always leeks to be harvested! Hyuga Satoru sighed inwardly.
Even though school had only just started, some students already possessed considerable amounts of chakra. Their Biological Magnetic Fields were far more vigorous. Compared to them, the civilian students were practically Fire Flys.
The most vigorous one was... Hyuga Satoru looked at the white-haired boy at the front, his brow slightly furrowing.
"Kakashi Hatake's Biological Magnetic Field is actually this strong. He probably already has nearly as much chakra as a Genin. No wonder he's a genius who became a Jonin at twelve."
"Alright, the explanation is over." Fujino Daikichi clapped his hands. "Next is the throwing practice. I'll record your scores. Kojun Miko, you're first."
"Yes."
The black-haired girl answered timidly and walked out from the crowd to stand beside Fujino Daikichi. A wooden target stood about ten meters in front of her, with a bamboo basket full of shuriken beside it.
Kojun Miko picked up a shuriken, recalled Fujino Daikichi's explanation, and threw it forcefully at the wooden target.
Smack!
The shuriken pierced the outer ring.
"Six points. Not bad."
Kojun Miko threw several more.
"Five points, six points, seven points..."
Fujino Daikichi nodded. "Alright, next."
Hyuga Satoru observed the shuriken throwing. His fingers twitched slightly, and several shuriken near the edge of the bamboo basket trembled.
"Shuriken are very light. According to Newton's second law, acceleration is inversely proportional to mass. They should be much easier to control than kitchen knives."
Just then, cries of surprise suddenly rose from the crowd.
"Oh my god, how did he do that?"
Hyuga Satoru looked over and saw Kakashi holding several shuriken in each hand. He threw with both hands, without the slightest pause. His movements flowed like water, and every shuriken buried itself in the bullseye.
"That's amazing!"
"A... a genius?"
Fujino Daikichi smiled and nodded. Mm, his fundamentals were extremely solid. His shuriken-throwing technique alone was already no weaker than that of an ordinary Genin. As expected of White Fang's son.
"Kakashi Hatake, full marks. Next."
"I'll go."
The moment Fujino Daikichi finished speaking, a black-haired girl suddenly darted out from the crowd. She landed where Kakashi had just thrown from and also threw with both hands. Her movements were just as fluid, and every shuriken struck the bullseye.
"As expected of the Uchiha Clan. Uchiha Rin, full marks!" Fujino Daikichi said with satisfaction.
Did they really have to compete this hard?
Hyuga Satoru's eyelid twitched.
Uchiha Rin had already become a king of grinders in his eyes.
He had suffered enough from those grinders in his previous life. He had not expected to encounter another one after transmigrating into the world of Naruto.
Uchiha Rin cast Kakashi a cold glance and returned to her place. Beside her, Obito shouted excitedly.
"Hey, Kakashi, did you see that? That's the strength of our Uchiha Clan! Just wait, I'll definitely defeat you!"
Kakashi completely ignored him.
Hyuga Satoru looked at Obito speechlessly. Everyone else also stared at him like he was an idiot as he waved his arms around. Who could have imagined that someone like this would become the future final boss?
"Next, Uchiha Obito."
"My turn." Obito walked to the front excitedly. "Watch closely and see my strength. I've secretly practiced shuriken throwing for a long time."
Uchiha Rin's performance had clearly given him tremendous confidence.
He picked up a shuriken and hurled it with all his strength. Then something happened that left everyone dumbfounded: the shuriken flew past the target, barely grazing it.
"Missed target, zero points," Fujino Daikichi said weakly.
"I don't believe it! It was an accident, it had to be an accident!" Uchiha Obito angrily threw another shuriken, only for it to miss again.
"Zero points." Fujino Daikichi was speechless...
Kakashi glanced at Obito, then immediately looked away.
Uchiha Rin helplessly turned her face aside, so embarrassed that she nearly dug out a three-bedroom apartment with her toes.
Her expression seemed to say, Don't look at me, don't look at me, I'm not from the same clan as him.
"Slip-up! A slip-up! That was definitely a slip-up! This isn't my actual level."
Obito threw another shuriken.
"Zero points..."
He threw again.
"Zero points..."
"Hahahaha..."
Thunderous laughter erupted around him.
Obito's face flushed red. He looked like an overinflated chili pepper, his teeth grinding with squeaks.
"I refuse to believe this!"
He violently threw the last shuriken in his hand.
Smack!
The shuriken lodged firmly in the bullseye.
The air suddenly fell silent.
Obito froze for a moment before bursting into laughter.
"I told you the earlier ones were mistakes! This is my real strength! Did you all see that?"
He turned around and saw everyone staring at him as though he were an idiot. Uchiha Rin covered her face with one hand in despair. At that moment, she was wondering whether she should get rid of him ahead of time for the Uchiha Clan's reputation.
"W-what are you all doing? I clearly hit the bullseye!" Obito stammered.
Fujino Daikichi spoke listlessly, "Obito, take another good look."
Obito turned back. His eyelid suddenly twitched, and his mouth fell open wide enough to swallow an orange.
"T-this... how is this possible?"
The target he had hit was not the testing target at all. It was the target of another group several meters away. The student there was holding a shuriken and preparing to throw it, staring at him with a bewildered expression.
In the corner, Hyuga Satoru's lips curled upward ever so slightly.
