The night was black as ink. Amid the encircling mountains, D Missile combat formations spread out.

A young soldier crouched beside a D Missile launcher, holding the launch equipment as he conducted one final parameter check.

His face still carried a trace of boyishness, but his gaze was focused and his movements deft.

Every step was carried out strictly according to operating procedures.

He rose to his feet and patted the launch vehicle's armor, as though greeting a comrade-in-arms.

Then he pressed his radio. "Reporting in. Final deployment at Position Three is complete."

The command group's voice came through the radio, slightly hoarse. "Received. Await orders."

The young soldier turned his head and lowered his voice as he asked the squad leader beside him:

"Squad Leader, do you think this batch of D Missiles will make them raise their hands over on the island?"

"Hahahaha! Kid, you're underestimating our country way too much, aren't you?"

The young soldier froze for a moment.

The squad leader continued, "This batch? Let me tell you, we're only the first batch.

"When the company commander let something slip at the meeting earlier, he said there would be fifty batches today in total, covering every strategic target across the island.

"And it won't be over after one round. The strikes are expected to continue for seven days.

"Do the math yourself. How much stuff do you think we'll be sending their way?"

The young soldier's mouth slowly fell open.

Fifty batches. Seven days.

He calculated quickly in his head. Even if every batch only had ten missiles, that would still be five hundred.

Not to mention that he knew his unit—one batch alone consisted of more than a dozen vehicles...

"Holy shit..." he could not
