Deep within the forest, inside a hidden cave covered in vines and moss, the air was damp and cold. Water seeping from the stone walls slowly dripped along the cracks, its dull patter breaking the deathly silence.

A vortex abruptly appeared in the center of the cave, tearing a distorted rift through the air. Then Obito tumbled heavily out of it.

Both knees slammed into the hard ground, his kneecaps striking the rock with a dull thump.

The eyeball shattered from within, its iris breaking into countless tiny fragments. Mixed with drops of cloudy white fluid, they spilled from his socket, slid down the inside of his mask, and dripped onto the stone slab with faint taps.

His right eye, the Mangekyō Sharingan that belonged to him, spun its tomoe madly, almost tearing through the boundaries of his pupil.

The murderous intent pouring from that eye was so dense it seemed about to take physical form, carrying a crazed, twisted ferocity that threatened to shred everything in its sight.

The chakra within Obito went completely berserk.

Darkness.

Absolute, pure darkness spilled from him like a living cloud of black mist.

Not far away, Zetsu slowly emerged from the rock wall in a corner of the cave.

Obito jerked his head up, his sole remaining Mangekyō Sharingan
