"Fuck!"
The fierce wind forced Jie Jian's mouth open so wide that he could not even curse, despite wanting to.
Fuck, why was the ground getting closer and closer?!
Damn System, where the hell did you send me?!
Was this really the Culling Game?!
As Jie Jian plummeted at high speed, his adrenaline surged wildly. He had never felt the world so clear.
The buildings below grew larger and larger in Jie Jian's eyes. He desperately tried to steady himself, hoping to stop.
However, it was all futile.
Hanging in midair, Jie Jian could only scream as he watched the concrete ground rush closer, unable to do anything.
"Splat!"
With a deafening crash, Jie Jian smashed his head into the concrete and died instantly, ending his sinful life.
In the System Space, Jie Jian suddenly sprang up from the ground.
"Is my head still there?!"
He panted heavily, his face covered in cold sweat. Instantly turning into Sima Yi, he checked his head.
The sensation of slamming his body into concrete had been far too exhilarating. Jie Jian could not possibly forget it anytime soon.
As he examined his body, a translucent screen unfolded before him, accompanied by the System's mechanical voice.
Failure Count: 1 Cause of Death: The host attempted to challenge concrete with his head. Evaluation: Trash among trash. Died before even officially participating in the Culling Game. Reward: A small amount of cursed energy; a slight increase in resistance to blows.
The System's voice snapped Jie Jian out of his panic over falling to death. He pointed at the screen and cursed furiously.
"Damn System, you've got the nerve to say that? Where the hell did you send me? Was that even the Culling Game?"
The System's voice remained merciless as it clearly explained to Jie Jian:
"Where the host went was indeed the Culling Game. The host was randomly teleported into the air by the Culling Game's barrier."
With that reminder from the System, Jie Jian suddenly recalled the rules for joining the Culling Game.
The players participating in the Culling Game were called swimmers. When swimmers entered the Culling Game's barrier, the barrier randomly teleported them to one of nine locations within it.
And some of those teleportation points were downright cursed—they were in the sky!
If swimmers teleported there and had bad luck, they got a free experience as a human cannonball. If they could not land safely, they would be smashed to death. Quite a few people in the Culling Game had died that way.
Clearly, Jie Jian was one of the unlucky ones.
After figuring out what had happened, Jie Jian took a deep breath.
At that moment, he had a very serious question to confirm.
"Um... System, if you can send me from another world into Jujutsu Kaisen, can't you give me a safe landing spot?"
"Sorry, host. I cannot do that."
The System's cold voice sounded again.
"The Culling Game is a special barrier. I have no authority to alter its rules. The host's landing point can only be random every time they enter the barrier."
Jie Jian gritted his teeth in anguish, then finally sighed helplessly.
Forget it. If he could not choose, then he could not choose.
He would not truly die anyway. He could treat it as trying bungee jumping without a rope.
Besides, it was not all bad news. Jie Jian asked the System:
"System, am I randomly teleported every time I enter the Culling Game barrier?"
"Yes. Every time is random."
The System's answer finally made Jie Jian breathe a sigh of relief.
Although the original story had not gone into detail, Jie Jian remembered that some swimmers in the Culling Game were rather weak.
Judging by their strength, there was no way those people could have survived being dropped from the sky.
Therefore, there had to be some teleportation points that were not dangerous!
As long as every entry was random, then the next time Jie Jian entered the barrier, he had a chance of landing at a safe teleportation point.
With that issue resolved, Jie Jian turned his attention to the screen that had just displayed his results.
Looking at the words "trash among trash" in the evaluation, Jie Jian gave an awkward smile.
"Sorry for being such trash, okay?"
There was nothing he could do about falling to his death. He was just an ordinary person right now. How could he possibly survive after being thrown directly into the sky?
Even if you sent Kobe, he would still crash!
After that helpless complaint, Jie Jian looked at the rewards on the panel with some anticipation.
"A small amount of cursed energy and a slight increase in resistance to blows?"
Honestly, Jie Jian did not feel the cursed energy at all!
He summoned his System panel. The cursed energy section still said "monkey," without the slightest change.
Jie Jian clenched his fist and punched himself in the chest. Maybe it was just his imagination, but he felt that his body really had become a little tougher!
Suddenly, an idea entered Jie Jian's mind.
"Hey, System! If dying from a fall once can improve my physique, then if I keep dying, can my body reach Yuji Itadori's level?"
"Sorry, host. I do not know that. The rewards from each settlement are related to the host's performance and must be explored by the host."
"Fine."
Jie Jian curled his lip. The System was way too stupid. It knew nothing—useless!
He stretched his body, and hesitation returned to his face.
Not for any other reason. He was considering whether he should enter the Culling Game again.
Although he would not truly die, the feeling of falling to his death had been far too real!
Whenever Jie Jian recalled the moment he slammed into the ground, he still felt lingering fear.
Just as Jie Jian was struggling with his indecision, the System's voice sounded.
"Has the host prepared to challenge the Culling Game again?"
The System's voice made Jie Jian's heart tremble.
He took a deep breath.
"Forget it. Death is death. What gambler loses every day? What child cries every day? I refuse to believe my luck can be this bad every time!"
He had to go in eventually. Staying in the System Space forever was not an option.
"System, send me to the Culling Game!"
"Understood."
As the System's voice faded, Jie Jian vanished from the System Space once again.
After a flash of white light, his vision returned.
Looking at the familiar scenery before him and the ever-enlarging concrete ground below, Jie Jian shouted the first and last words of this challenge.
"Fuck, wasn't it supposed to be random? Why is it here again?!"
As the familiar sound of "splat" rang out again, Jie Jian returned to the System Space once more.
