In fact, Okkotsu had left Jujutsu High in Tokyo long ago. By all rights, he should have entered Sendai Colony that morning.

But thanks to Jinichi Zenin's meddling, a rule allowing "free entry and exit" through the barriers had been added to the Culling Game ahead of schedule.
Once the rule came into effect, the players were manageable enough. They knew they had to stay inside the barriers to have somewhere to earn points.
After all, another Culling Game rule required them to earn points every seven days. They had to remain inside.
The cursed spirits, however, ran wild!
Under normal circumstances, cursed spirits would not leave the places where they had been born.
But there was nothing normal about the cursed spirits inside the barriers. Kenjaku had forcibly placed them there.
So the moment the barriers stopped confining them, hordes of cursed spirits escaped, directly threatening the residents outside.
To deal with them, Okkotsu had no choice but to put off entering the colony and kill the cursed spirits first.
After working for nearly an entire day, Okkotsu had finally cleared out most of the dangerous cursed spirits nearby. Without even taking the time to eat his takeout, he decided to enter Sendai Colony at last.
