Orochimaru activated an unknown ninjutsu, and an eerie atmosphere filled the room.
Naruto, hiding behind the door, felt uncomfortable all over, as if a snake had coiled around his body and tightly wrapped around his neck.
Suddenly, Naruto vanished into thin air, frightening Hinata.
Hinata jumped in alarm. Naruto had disappeared right before her eyes, replaced by a stone statue of Naruto.
"Ow..." Naruto crashed heavily onto the floor.
"Success! Na... ru... to... Uzumaki... I finally summoned you here." Orochimaru looked immensely excited, unable to conceal his joy as it turned into an unbroken stream of laughter. "Hehehehe..."
Naruto finally understood. That strange feeling that had come every night over the past three years had really been Orochimaru's doing.
Orochimaru had apparently developed some bizarre space-time ninjutsu that could summon humans over long distances.
"What a strange ninjutsu." Naruto got to his feet, showing no fear of Orochimaru. He even took the initiative instead. "Orochimaru, what the hell are you doing? If you can't explain it properly, watch me wipe you out."
Orochimaru darted over to Naruto, looking here, sniffing there, touching here, licking there...
"Ah—" Naruto let out a series of strange cries, startling Hinata outside the door into smashing her way in.
The moment Hinata burst through the door, she heard Naruto shout, "Even Hinata has never stuck out her tongue and licked me like that! Orochimaru, are you looking to die?"
Hinata was completely dumbfounded.
"Ah, don't mind that." Orochimaru slowly walked to the wall and pointed at the books on the bookshelf beside it. Excitedly, he said, "These are all intelligence and records on you, Naruto."
