Homelander withdrew his Heat Vision and stared at the thing still glowing blue in the lava, his face dark.
"Did that thing... absorb my energy?"
"It didn't absorb yours."
The Ancient One explained.
"It's part of Ego himself. In this dimension, it's the 'effect,' and Ego is the 'cause.'"
"No matter how much damage you do to it here, Ego's true body will keep sending energy through a higher-dimensional channel to repair it."
"Unless..."
"Unless we kill the true body," Homelander finished.
"Yes." The Ancient One nodded. "As long as Ego lives, this seed is indestructible."
"And..." She drew a finger through the air, trying to cut out the area and move it with spatial magic.
But space was as rigid as set concrete. It did not budge.
"...it's already locked to Earth's core."
The Ancient One lowered her hand and shook her head regretfully.
"I can't teleport it away or banish it to the Mirror Dimension. It's become a fixed 'singularity' of Earth in this dimension."
"There's nothing we can do?" Wanda understood how serious this was. "We just leave it planted here and wait for it to eat Earth?"
"Seal it."
The Ancient One spoke.
"We can use the Vishanti Sealing Spell to temporarily suppress the channel carrying energy from its true body and slow its growth."
"But it'll only buy us time." The Ancient One looked at the restless blue seed. "A seal won't hold against the power of the Celestials for long."
"Especially when we also have to keep Dormammu at bay."
Homelander fell silent for a few seconds.
"All right... If we can't deal with the problem, we'll deal with the one who caused it."
He looked toward the depths of the sky.
"Looks like I'm taking a long trip."
"Where?" Wanda asked.
"Ego's Planet."
