"Do you know?" Wu Yanzu tilted his head, revealing a pitying smile. "I really hate experimental subjects like you."
"You remind me of some unbearable memories, even though those memories don't belong to me."
"What do you know?!" Savan roared. He took a step back, pulled out a detonator, and pressed it.
"Boom—!!!!"
He detonated the bombs that had been planted along the cabin wall!
He knew he couldn't win, but he had a Plan B!
"Whoosh—!!!"
A massive hole ten meters across was blasted through the side of the cabin!
The terrifying pressure difference at ten thousand meters instantly sucked out the carts, luggage, documents... and...
"Aaaahhh—!!!"
Thirteen surviving crew members, staffers, and Secret Service agents were swept out of the cabin by the powerful airflow like kites with broken strings, screaming as they fell into the abyss below!
"Hahahahahaha!!" Savan laughed maniacally.
"Go save them, Homelander!" he snarled. "Go on! Aren't you a hero?! Hahahaha!"
Savan looked smugly at Wu Yanzu.
"You're really loud." Wu Yanzu cut him off coldly.
Savan's laughter stopped abruptly.
"You think... you've given me a difficult problem?"
A nearly cruel smile appeared on Wu Yanzu's face.
"I'm not here to play games with you, you piece of... heat-generating trash."
Alarm bells rang in Savan's head. Just as he was about to detonate himself—
"Sizzle—!!!"
Wu Yanzu's eyes lit up with a deep crimson glow.
He gave Savan no time to react.
Two beams of heat vision, each with a core temperature exceeding 5,000°C, swept across him.
"Splurt—!"
Eric Savan's head split cleanly in half like a sliced watermelon.
Half a corpse dropped to its knees with a bang, the wound charred black.
Wu Yanzu did not spare the corpse another glance.
"Ashley," he said calmly as he reactivated his communicator, "Plan A is complete. Now, begin Plan B."
"P-Plan B? What Plan B?" Ashley was utterly confused.
"That's right."
Wu Yanzu walked over to the massive hole. Cold wind howled into the cabin, making his cape flap wildly.
He looked down at the thirteen black dots flickering in and out of sight amid the clouds.
"Plan B is called... camera time!"
With that, blazing beams shot from his eyes—not to kill, but to cut!
He targeted the alloy floor section covered in carpet and still attached to seven rows of seats!
"Screeech—!!"
His heat vision swept across the hard fuselage alloy like an indestructible scalpel!
"Cut... cut... turn... one more pass..."
Azu was like an artist wholly absorbed in his work, cutting a perfect rectangle into the belly of Air Force One!
"Open!"
He shot forward and kicked with both feet!
"Clang—!!!"
A huge "tray," roughly ten meters long and five meters wide, along with more than a dozen bolted-down seats, was forcefully kicked off the plane!
Azu flew forward, grabbed the edge of the "flying carpet," and steadied himself.
Dragging the enormous "alloy tray," he abruptly changed direction and charged toward the thirteen screaming "lucky passengers"!
"Ahhh! I'm going to die!!"
A flight attendant flailed wildly in midair, unable to breathe in the raging high-altitude wind.
Just as she was about to pass out, a strong arm wrapped around her waist.
"Hey."
The flight attendant opened her eyes and saw that handsome face... one that existed only on television and in her dreams.
"H-Homelander?!"
"Hold on tight, sweetheart." Azu gave her a million-dollar smile.
Holding her in his arms, Azu gently tossed her onto one of the seats on the "tray."
"Bang!"
"Sit down! Fasten your seat belt, ma'am."
"What?!"
"Fasten your seat belt! This flight might get a little bumpy!"
"Ahhh!!"
Azu ignored her screams and rushed toward his next target.
"Save me! Save me!" A senior White House staffer was plummeting rapidly.
Azu grabbed him by the collar.
"Bang!" Another one.
"Fasten your seat belt!"
"Next!"
"Bang!"
"Fasten it!!"
"Next!"
"Bang!"
"Fasten it!!!"
The last one!
"Done."
All thirteen people, not one more and not one less, were aboard the "flying tray."
Most of them were scared senseless, but they instinctively followed orders, grabbing their seats and fastening their seat belts.
"Ladies and gentlemen."
Azu gripped the edge of the "tray" at the front, acting as its "nose."
He cleared his throat and gave the shaken passengers behind him a professional smile.
"Ladies and gentlemen! Welcome aboard... Homelander Flight!"
"The flight may experience some turbulence, so fasten your damn seat belts!"
"Vrooom—!!!"
He suddenly accelerated!
Under his "tow," the massive tray cut from Air Force One halted its descent and began to... glide steadily.
Meanwhile, in New York's Times Square.
It was as bustling as ever.
The massive billboards were continuously playing the trailer for Homelander: Origins.
Then, suddenly, every screen... went black.
"Hey! What's going on?"
"Where's my Homelander sweetheart?!"
The next second, every screen... switched to the same emergency live broadcast.
"...My God... we are witnessing something unbelievable!"
The footage was shaky aerial video from a helicopter.
Air Force One... no, the wreckage of Air Force One!
A massive section of airplane flooring was carrying more than a dozen people as it glided steadily across New York's skyline!
And at the very front of that "floor," the red-and-blue figure was leading them onward!
"He did it... Homelander... he... he caught everyone!!"
"My God... he cut the plane apart and turned it into a lifeboat!!"
Tens of thousands of people in Times Square looked up at once, their mouths hanging open.
They saw...
They saw the figure from the live broadcast emerging from the sky!
Azu kept the tray perfectly level as he flew at a steady speed across the city skyline.
He could hear the screams from below, but he did not care.
His Vought Media helicopter was circling at the best possible filming angle.
"Closer! Yes! I want a close-up!!" Vought's dedicated cameraman roared crazily at the camera from the helicopter.
"Now!"
Azu flew directly above Times Square.
Slowly... he changed positions.
He went from "towing" to "lifting."
He flew beneath the massive tray and used both hands to hold up those thirteen lives, to hold up that heavy alloy floor!
"Click—!!!!"
Vought's cameraman pressed the shutter.
This image was destined to become legendary.
