Wanda silently descended the ramp. She said nothing and looked at no one.

She walked to an open space and raised her hand.

A portal tore open in the air, spraying sparks.

On the other side lay the snow-covered Himalayas and the ancient buildings of Kamar-Taj.

Mordo was instructing apprentices in the square. When he saw Wanda return, he hurried over.

"Wanda? Why are you back? The news said..."

"I need to get into the library."

Wanda cut him off, her voice perfectly calm.

"I want every advanced text on dimensional and spatial magic."

Mordo frowned. "Many of those books deal with forbidden powers. The Ancient One said that if your power goes unchecked..."

"Then let her stop me."

Wanda raised her hand. Crimson Chaos energy danced at her fingertips. It no longer surged wildly as it once had; it was dense, almost solid.

"I'm calm, Mordo."

There was nothing in her eyes but resolve. Nothing else held her attention.
