"Don't get bogged down fighting them, Victor!"
Batman piloted the jet and blasted a hole through the outer energy barrier with high-explosive rounds.
"Get inside! Find the Mother Boxes!" Bruce's voice came over the headset. He was flying overhead, drawing the Parademons' fire.
"Scanning... Found them! Underground!"
Steel Bone blasted open the elevator shaft doors.
"Barry! Get me down there!"
A streak of red flashed.
The Flash appeared beside Steel Bone and grabbed his shoulder.
"Hold tight, Decepticon!"
Whoosh!
The two became a streak of light and plunged straight down the elevator shaft.
Bang—boom!!
Steel Bone blew through the underground laboratory's ceiling.
Security was tight. More than a hundred elite soldiers guarded the enormous glowing device.
Three Mother Boxes floated at its center, humming in unison.
"That's it!" Steel Bone shouted.
"Intruders—!"
"I'll hold them off!"
Barry raced through the cramped room, leaving countless afterimages as he sent guards flying and weapons clattering across the floor.
"Victor! Hurry!"
Steel Bone rushed to the control console. His mechanical arm changed shape and plugged into a port, data streaming across his vision.
"I'm hacking in... I need time!"
"We don't have much!"
The laboratory doors opened, and more Parademons and guards poured in.
Deathstroke dropped from a ventilation duct to help, cleaving a Parademon in two with one swing.
He was already wounded, but he kept swinging his sword with wild abandon.
Steel Bone gritted his teeth and stared at the three Mother Boxes.
They were his origin—and the source of this destruction.
"Aaaagh—!!"
Steel Bone roared in pain. His body began to glow, resonating with the Mother Boxes.
"I'm... a Mother Box too!!"
Hummm—!
At last, the light of the three Mother Boxes dimmed. They slowly descended and fell to the floor.
"We did it!" Barry cried in delight.
"Got them!"
