The two of them walked into the room. It was spacious and brightly lit, decorated with a warm, cozy feel.

Thick carpeting, soft sofas, and even a fully assembled crib stood in one corner.

Fury helped Vara sit down on the sofa, his gaze fixed tightly on her stomach.

"Is it real?" Fury's voice trembled slightly.

Vara nodded and gently stroked her abdomen. "It's real, Fury. More than four months."

"I didn't know I was pregnant at first. Not until I came to the compound to turn myself in." Vara took Fury's hand and placed it against her lower belly.

"They detected the little one. But... human and Skrull genes combined made the embryo extremely unstable. There was a strong chance of miscarriage."

"Homelander saved the child. He injected me with some kind of white substance... Vought's people said it was a genetic stabilizer, and it really worked."

Vara touched her face.

"And to ensure the child could develop properly and be born safely, Homelander made an exception and allowed me to keep my shapeshifting ability. That way, I could maintain a human form the entire time, allowing the embryo to grow in the environment best suited to it."

As he listened to Vara's account, a long-lost wave of emotion rose within Fury.
