Just then, a blonde white woman came out of the house and looked at Scott with mixed emotions.

"You finally came out. Cassie, go inside. I need to talk to your father."

Cassie clung to Scott's neck and shook her little head. "No. I want Daddy to come inside with me."

"Hey, long time no see, Maggie," Scott said.

Cassie's mother held back her anger and pulled out a document. "What's this legal document granting you visitation rights? I never agreed to it, so how did it get approved?"

"Did you bribe the judge?"

That only made Scott more aware of how mysterious Apocalypse was, and how powerful his connections were.

Scott had worried the document might be fake. Instead, it had reached both him and his ex-wife in just ten minutes.

Now that he had visitation rights with his daughter, everything in the world seemed wonderful. He ignored his ex-wife's angry questions.

He smiled. "Cassie, I got you a photo of the Apocalypse King. He even signed it."

"Really? Where is it?"

Cassie cried out with delight, her eyes narrowing into two little crescents.

Luis and Apocalypse got out of the car, and Luis handed the photo to Scott.

Cassie eagerly opened it, and Scott gently read the dedication aloud to her.

But Cassie soon noticed something. She looked back and forth between the photo and Apocalypse himself.

Many Westerners had trouble telling East Asian faces apart, but not when the person was standing right there beside his photo.

"Daddy, is he really the Apocalypse King?"

"He is." Scott had no choice but to press on. "He's a good friend of mine, too. He heard how smart and adorable you are, so he came along to meet you."

Cassie's mother was on the verge of rolling her eyes.
