The helicopter descended toward the ground and blasted the automated Gatling gun emplacement apart.
But the house remained silent, with no further attacks.
Apocalypse said, "Your mom left through the tunnel to the east."
Yelena leaped out of the helicopter.
Worried about her, Black Widow followed close behind.
Although Melina would never attack her own "daughter," the traps along the way could still prove fatal if Yelena wasn't careful.
Sure enough, several muffled explosions sounded underground, and patches of turf collapsed here and there.
Without Black Widow protecting her, Yelena would have been gravely injured, if not killed.
Apocalypse told the other Widows, "Guard the perimeter."
"Yes!"
A dozen or so stunning women carrying various firearms swiftly dispersed, concealing themselves in the grass and woods.
Red Guardian watched the beauties leave with a hint of envy.
Having a group of world-class beauties obey his every command would be any man's dream paradise.
Still, envy was one thing. He knew better than anyone what sort of women came out of the Red Room, and he certainly wouldn't dare provoke them lightly.
Apocalypse strolled into the house.
On the dining table in the living room lay a sandwich with only a few bites taken out of it, beside a cup of still-warm coffee.
A large bookcase stood against the wall.
Yelena's "mother," Melina, was a gifted scientist who had devoted herself to technological research ever since going into seclusion.
Without the threat of the Red Room, she probably wouldn't have set up so many weapons to protect herself.
Apocalypse poured himself a cup of coffee and stretched out comfortably on the sofa.
Red Guardian shot him a sideways look and demanded, "Aren't you worried Natasha and Yelena will get hurt?"
"I'm watching them."
Red Guardian silently cursed in frustration. *You're drinking coffee
