First Encounter with the Guardians of the Galaxy

When the two arrived, they found Destroyer Drax leading a group of people in an attack on Gamora.

Gamora was fairly strong, but two hands could not fend off more than a dozen. Out in the open, she might have been able to use hit-and-run tactics to reduce the pressure of facing so many opponents head-on. But the prison was cramped, leaving her nowhere to evade.

On top of that, Destroyer was no empty name. After several exchanges, Drax had pinned a crude dagger against her throat.

Drax said, "Thanos sent Ronan to kill my people, my wife, and my child. Today, I'll kill one of his family members to avenge them."

Gamora hurriedly said, "I'm not family to Thanos or Ronan. I want to kill them too."

"Liar! Many races saw you fight for Thanos."

"I was forced to. Thanos slaughtered half my people too. He abducted me when I was young and trained me as an assassin. I had no way to resist..."

Though Gamora tried desperately to explain, Drax could not possibly let go of the hatred of his people's extermination based on a few words from her.

Just as the dagger was about to thrust forward, Star-Lord and Apocalypse arrived.

Apocalypse pointed from afar, and a yellow divine power wrapped around the dagger, holding it just against Gamora's throat. It could not advance another inch.

Star-Lord hurriedly said, "She's already betrayed Thanos and Ronan. Ronan will definitely come after her. Didn't Ronan kill your wife and child? We can use her as bait, then..."

As he spoke, Star-Lord made a throat-slitting gesture.
