Looking at Cuba's tranquil coast, Copilli sighed from the heart, and the rowing Samurai voiced their agreement again and again. And the reason the Samurai could feel this traveler-like ease was precisely because of the peace and friendliness of Cuba's Taino Tribes.
Even in the Maya lands across several hundred li of coast, all the tribes were filled with vigilance, hostility, hatred, and slaughter, with human sacrifices among large and small tribes beyond counting. But once they reached Cuba, the Taino Tribes seemed to change all at once, utterly different from the plateau and the jungle. They would bring out their tribe's food to warmly entertain the Kingdom's fleet, and there would also be celebrations of singing and dancing, along with wonderful nights that made one linger even more.
