The surrounding North Bay Tribe village, from the thriving farms to the west, to the thatched huts burned into ruins to the south, to the still-lush pastureland to the east, had all been abandoned by the Demon. And roughly several hundred Demons, together with their great ships, were gathered near the northern bay, within an area two li across. The northern side of that area was the shore; east and west were enclosed by a ring of crude fencing; to the south was the half-built low log wall that had already been raised.
