A bold song echoed through the entire military camp, carrying several miles into the distance, making even the spring rain fall still.
The priestly leader of Cholula, the aged Petel, slowly rose from a corner of the camp. Following in the footsteps of several of the king's personal guards, he stepped out of the crude tent. The king's guards all wore Bronze Armor, which clanged as they walked, drawing Petel's careful gaze and setting thoughts turning in his mind.
Then the warriors' fervent singing reached the old priestly leader's ears. He could not help pausing slightly, his eyes narrowing like a fox's.
"Ah! The God of War descends from the divine realm, promising glory to the Mexica People. Who is the offspring of the gods? He is the king of the Mexica People! Who is the true warrior? He is the hero of the Mexica People!"
Petel pressed his lips together and pondered for a long while. Then he let out a long breath, sighed deeply, and restored the calm on his face.
Inside the great tent, Avet laughed heartily. He raised his cup and shouted to the assembled generals.
"The Main God blesses us! Come, drain this cup, and celebrate our warriors!"
"The Main God blesses us! To the king! To the nobles! To the warriors!"
Kasal bowed slightly at the waist, a respectful smile on his face, saluting the king in the seat of honor, then raising his cup to the nobles on either side. After that, Mountain Clan Chief Izel also lowered his head and was the second to offer praise.
"The Main God blesses us! The sun god has descended to the mortal world, taking form as the supreme king! And under the king's rule, the nobles and warriors of every state are willing to throw
