The story on the peninsula comes to a close here! The author spent a very long time carefully researching European history. In the chapters over the past few days, I went into detail about the influence of the Venetians and the Church, the holy war in Granada, the internal strife among the Moors, the situation on the peninsula, Spain's internal structure, and, of course, the important Spanish monarchs. I also introduced typhus, a major infectious disease that once ravaged Mesoamerica in history.
The reason I wrote in such detail was, first, to unfold a new map of the peninsula, filling in the map's details and characters as a foundation for reasonable developments in the future. The other reason was that Spain's piety, bellicosity, and poverty doomed it to become the first and most dangerous enemy of the various peoples of the Americas. This contradiction between faith and wealth was irreconcilable, a struggle of you die or I live, with no room for luck at all; sooner or later, it would arrive in the form of war. And for the later plot that has yet to be developed, the author needed to establish characters in advance and lay down foreshadowing.
A new year means a new beginning, and the author has been working hard to update! Thank you, dear readers, for your support and encouragement. When I'm feeling down, I always look back at the old comments and try to pick myself up. Finally, thank you all—may the new year get better for everyone! (_)
