Later, Dorry told them about his origins. He came from a place on the Grand Line called Elbaf Village. For certain reasons, he had to settle a duel with another man here, and only the winner could leave the island.

When Luffy heard that the two had been fighting on this island for a hundred years without deciding a victor, he could not help being astonished by their sense of time. Dorry explained that the Giant Tribe lived three times as long as humans, so living that long was perfectly normal.

At that moment, Valentine happened to descend from the sky. Her expression was somewhat puzzled, and when MR. 5 saw her, he asked, "MISS. Valentine, did you see anything?"

Later, Dorry returned and sat down with Luffy and the others again.

Vivi asked Dorry whether the Log Pose truly needed a full year to store its magnetic force. Dorry's answer was somewhat vague, but he conveyed one thing: most people who arrived on this island could not last a year. They were either eaten by beasts or died after attacking the two giants. The pile of skulls in the cave made that clear enough.

Later, Dorry mentioned that he did have a Eternal Pose, though it pointed to Elbaf Village. His fight with Brogy was also over claiming that Eternal Pose, and he asked Luffy and the others whether they were interested in trying to take it.

Luffy bluntly said he did not want it. Dorry said then they would have to rely on luck; if their luck was good, they might just reach the next island. Hearing that, Luffy seriously thought about it, seemingly considering whether it was feasible.

Hearing someone call him, Dorry turned around. Zero was speaking to him.
