Ch. 41Youth Arc: Resolve

The narrator fought desperately against the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist, using his knowledge and newly awakened Haki to survive their assault. As they closed in to kill him, he resolved to break through his limits and reach the Sword Saint level.

  • The narrator narrowly dodged Jinin Akebino’s Kabutowari and Raiga Kurosuki’s Lightning Blade: Kiba, but was wounded and knocked into a reef by Hōzuki Chiba.
  • The Seven Ninja Swordsmen questioned the narrator about his knowledge, then attacked together while Juzo Biwa used Water Release to restrict his movements.
  • The narrator endured repeated wounds as Dragon Saint Battle Aura grew stronger and he learned to use Armament Haki, but Twin Blades: Hōkiboshi broke his father’s sword.
  • The narrator stabbed his own leg with the broken blade to fight through his dizziness and ringing ears as Chiba ordered the six swordsmen to charge.
  • The narrator realized he needed strength in the present, wrapped his blade in Battle Aura and black Haki, and reached for a breakthrough to Sword God Style—Light Blade and Sword Saint.

Ch. 42Boyhood Arc: Breakthrough

Qingyue broke through during his battle with the Seven Ninja Swordsmen, killed Munashi Jinpachi, and collapsed just as Konoha reinforcements arrived. After waking in the hospital, he learned that all the swordsmen had been captured and began reviewing the war’s progress, while planning to rest before joining the Kannabi Bridge mission.

  • Qingyue killed Munashi Jinpachi with a burst of speed, then ran out of strength as Hōzuki Chiba and the other swordsmen faced him.
  • Uchiha Fugaku and Konoha reinforcements, including Shisui and Hyuga shinobi, surrounded the remaining swordsmen, and someone caught Qingyue as he collapsed.
  • Qingyue woke in a Konoha hospital and learned that the village hailed him as a hero for his battlefield deeds.
  • Qingyue asked the Third Hokage whether the Seven Ninja Swordsmen and their swords had been captured, and the Hokage confirmed that they were all in Konoha’s custody.
  • Qingyue reviewed the war’s situation and learned that Konoha planned to destroy Kannabi Bridge, while Hidden Sand was in disarray and Hidden Cloud and Hidden Rock were fighting on multiple fronts.

Ch. 43Turning Point I

Qingyue fought Hidden Sand on Konoha’s border while worrying about Hill’s unexplained silence, then vanished through a glowing magic circle. He awoke in a past moment as Kanasi, a tortured prisoner, and received advice from a mysterious Man-God on how to escape.

  • Qingyue spoke with Orochimaru about Hidden Sand’s strategy and then fought on the battlefield, driving back enemies who attacked him.
  • Qingyue reflected on Hill’s absence and questioned why he had been reincarnated with unusual powers and the ability to change history.
  • A blue magic circle appeared beneath Qingyue, and unseen operators teleported him after confirming that two Players could make contact.
  • Kanasi recalled being mistreated by his team, abandoned during a mission, and tortured after Kumogakure captured him.
  • A pure-white figure calling himself a Man-God spoke with Kanasi in a dream and advised him to provoke his tormentor the next day so he could kill the man and escape.

Ch. 44Youth Arc: Error

Qingyue woke in an unfamiliar forest after an unknown entity forcibly teleported him, and Hill explained that her interference had displaced his destination. He learned that other reincarnators existed and that summoning Hill’s physical body would cost a great deal of the Power of Fate; the chapter ended when he found a mud-covered red-haired girl in a cave.

  • Qingyue woke in a forest and learned from Hill that the Power of Fate had forcibly teleported him, while Hill’s interference had altered his destination.
  • Qingyue asked whether other reincarnators existed, and Hill confirmed they did but could not reveal their identities.
  • Qingyue reassured Hill and promised to bring her into the world if he could exchange enough Power of Fate for her physical body.
  • Qingyue left the forest and entered a cave to spend the night, where he found a mud-covered girl with bright red hair.

Ch. 45Furan's Youth

Qingyue fought and subdued a feral girl he believed was an Uzumaki Clan survivor, then healed and fed her in a forest cave. The girl introduced herself as Furan and said her village was gone and she had escaped.

  • Qingyue entered a cave and was attacked by a red-haired girl who mistook him for an enemy.
  • Qingyue overpowered the girl, but let her strike him before she collapsed from her injuries.
  • Qingyue used a recovery potion to heal the girl, gathered food, and prepared a meal in the cave.
  • The girl woke and secretly watched Qingyue before he ordered her to approach and agree to his conditions for food and shelter.
  • The girl introduced herself as Furan and told Qingyue that her village was gone and she had escaped.

Ch. 46Taming Beasts

Qingyue subdued Furan, fed her, and arranged for her to bathe and change clothes in their cave. After learning that Furan had nowhere to return to, Qingyue invited her to leave for Konoha together and promised to protect her.

  • Furan punched Qingyue, who caught her wrist and threw her against the cave wall, prompting her to apologize.
  • Qingyue gave Furan vegetables, fruit, and meat and told her to eat slowly if she wanted to stay.
  • Qingyue exchanged Power of Fate for toiletries and clothes, then instructed Furan to bathe and change.
  • Qingyue asked whether Furan had a home or knew of Konoha, and Furan said she had nowhere to return to and vaguely remembered hearing of the village.
  • Qingyue hugged Furan and promised to take her to Konoha and protect her.

Ch. 47The Boy Arc: Massacre

Qingyue and Furan traveled toward Konoha until a Kumogakure squad ambushed them and kidnapped Furan. Qingyue tracked her to a hidden camp, slaughtered its occupants, and comforted her after rescuing her.

  • Qingyue trained Furan in swordsmanship as they traveled for eight days without encountering anyone.
  • Qingyue killed three Kumogakure ninja, but a Jonin abducted Furan while the others distracted him.
  • The Jonin brought Furan to a hidden Kumogakure camp, where two ninja discussed abusing her and taking her bloodline.
  • Qingyue transformed into his Fenrir form and killed all nine ninja in the camp within seconds.
  • Qingyue apologized to Furan, and she leaped into his arms and cried as he comforted her.

Ch. 48Youth Arc: Man-God

Qingyue and Furan continued through the forest after escaping Hidden Cloud, and Furan asked to learn his swordsmanship. Their journey was interrupted when Kanasi, an Iwagakure rogue ninja and Man-God’s apostle, attacked Qingyue and revealed his Steel Release.

  • Qingyue reassured Furan that she should fight back or call for help if she was threatened again, and she asked to learn his fast swordsmanship.
  • Qingyue explained the Sword God Style’s Light Blade to Furan, then continued traveling with her while avoiding Hidden Cloud ninja.
  • Qingyue sensed an approaching enemy who identified him as the target Man-God had ordered eliminated.
  • The attacker introduced himself as Kanasi, a rogue ninja from Iwagakure, and refused to explain Man-God’s motive for targeting Qingyue.
  • Qingyue struck Kanasi with a Haki-coated sword slash, but Kanasi survived unharmed and revealed his Steel Release Kekkei Tōta.
  • Kanasi launched sharp steel pillars at Qingyue.

Ch. 49Blood Battle

Qingyue fought Kanasi, a Shadow Level opponent whose Steel Release and Mud Release countered Qingyue’s close-range combat. The battle ended in a stalemate, with Qingyue realizing he had to master Ryuo or develop his Fruit powers before Kanasi defeated him.

  • Qingyue dodged Kanasi’s steel spear and deflected his Scatter Steel Bullets with Water God Style swordsmanship.
  • Qingyue wounded Kanasi only slightly before escaping the steel pillars that erupted beneath him.
  • Qingyue discovered Kanasi’s ninjutsu was most dangerous within roughly fifteen meters and began trying to exhaust his chakra while conserving stamina.
  • Kanasi trapped Qingyue in a Mud Swamp and attacked with steel pillars, but Qingyue broke free and evaded an Iron Lotus.
  • Kanasi repeatedly forced Qingyue to flee exploding Iron Lotuses, leaving the fight a race between Qingyue learning Ryuo or new Fruit abilities and Kanasi overpowering him.

Ch. 50Boyhood Arc: Ryuo

Qingyue fought Kanasi and struggled to understand how to use Ryuo, while Kanasi used Qingyue’s blood to control steel spears and badly wounded him. As Kanasi prepared a final attack, Qingyue discovered that releasing an excessive amount of Haki could shatter the spears and prepared to counterattack.

  • Qingyue abandoned sword-focused attacks and punched Kanasi, trying to sense the flow of Haki and trigger Ryuo.
  • Kanasi revealed that he could use Qingyue’s blood to control steel, then pierced Qingyue with tracking spears.
  • Furan watched Qingyue’s injuries and felt a special chakra affect her eyes as she prayed for him to fight back.
  • Kanasi prepared to blast Qingyue’s brain with another spear, while Qingyue stopped overthinking and sensed Haki more clearly.
  • Qingyue released an excessive amount of Haki, shattered the spears embedded in his body, and vowed to take his turn against Kanasi.
