Father Ye, whose attention Ye Yuan had successfully diverted.
Hearing his son ask that, he immediately burst into laughter.
"Ah! You mean this? Haha, it's a good thing.
Someone wanted to hire you to make furniture.
And it was a turnkey deal, labor and materials included. They offered a pretty good price, too.
Now that you're back, take a look. Can you make this kind of furniture?"
As he spoke, Father Ye opened his desk drawer and took out a beautifully drawn blueprint.
The blueprint showed a round wooden chair that demanded highly skilled carving.
Although the carved patterns looked intricate to Ye Yuan, they would not be particularly difficult to make.
"It's just a chair. Why did they insist on finding me?"
Ye Yuan asked in confusion.
"The quantity is huge! They wanted a hundred chairs.
A lot of subcontracting workshops couldn't gather that much material on short notice."
As Father Ye spoke, his expression grew extremely excited.
In his eyes, he had landed his son an excellent job.
Hearing the number, Ye Yuan frowned slightly as well.
He did enjoy making furniture, but he did not make a living from it.
Taking on one or two jobs occasionally to practice was no big deal.
But asking him to stay on the island and mass-produce one type of furniture? That was a joke.
Still, he knew his father meant well. Since he had just refused him once, he could not bear to refuse him again.
He would not be heading back out to the distant sea anytime soon, so taking this job would not be a problem.
But he still asked:
"You already have the blueprint. What material do they want? And what price did they offer?"
"Mahogany. Two thousand yuan per chair. I think that price is fair.
