What would happen when someone suffered Soul-Loss? Gu Qingfeng thought they would most likely end up much like Zhang Jianqiang and Zhang Chao before him.
They lay on their beds, incontinent and empty-eyed, like people in a vegetative state.
They had caused such a ruckus before because they had not lost enough of their souls. Mild Soul-Loss could drastically alter a person's temperament, as with those two and the depressed crowd in the courtyard.
Severe Soul-Loss, however, truly meant losing all three ethereal souls and seven corporeal souls, leaving them this witless. Staying alive and breathing were purely instinctive.
Lying there like that, the two would die sooner or later.
But no one bothered with them.
After all, those two had started by tormenting their "roommates." Everyone here except Gu Qingfeng had suffered considerably at their hands.
The "Fugitive" apparently realized this too. He secretly punched Zhang Jianqiang, caving in part of his face, yet Zhang Jianqiang barely reacted.
All Gu Qingfeng could say was that this little courtyard was becoming more and more like a mental hospital.
As Zhang Jianqiang and Zhang Chao continued to give off a foul stench, those whose depression was less severe still knew to move elsewhere, such as coming over to Gu Qingfeng's side to sleep on the floor.
Those with severe depression remained amid the roomful of stench, still gazing up at the stars.
Gu Qingfeng seriously wondered whether, after Zhang Jianqiang and Zhang Chao became rotting corpses that produced corpse poison, those people would still stay inside and die of poisoning.
He really could not stand this depressed bunch anymore. Before, when recounting their experiences of murder and arson, every one of them had been radiant with excitement. Now they were all like dead fish.
Still, they certainly deserved this end.
