Ancient Hogwarts slept in the dark of night. None of the Slytherin wizards knew that their Head of House and a fellow student had just killed five werewolves—and even brought their heads back into the school.
Eli sneaked back into the dormitory. The other three were all sleeping soundly.
Only a few tufts of Draco's blond hair could be seen above his blankets. Eli always worried that the kid might one day suffocate under the covers.
His return did not draw his roommates' attention. Perhaps because he had been going out so frequently these past few days, Draco and the others had already grown used to it.
Sleep came quickly, with none of the unpleasant associations one might expect from the slaughter that had just taken place.
By morning, Hogwarts gradually awakened, and the students began another day of school.
