"I vetoed your proposal in my capacity as a school governor. If you wish to oppose me, then first convince at least half the governors."
"You..." Umbridge's hand gripping her Wand trembled, and her tiny eyes gleamed with malice. She dearly wanted to throw a few nasty curses.
Eli glanced at Umbridge's Wand, where faint magical fluctuations were coming from. He chuckled. "Does Professor Umbridge intend to attack me directly?"
Umbridge's expression changed, and her heart skipped a beat. Attacking Eli at a time like this would be an extremely unwise move.
Never mind whether she could beat him or not—she was a Ministry of Magic official and a school professor, yet she had rashly resorted to violence against a student, right in front of nearly the entire school. It would be a tremendous scandal.
Not only would Dumbledore throw her straight out of Hogwarts, but they would seize the opportunity to point the spearhead directly at Fudge, the Minister for Magic.
If Fudge fell from power now, there would certainly be no good outcome for her.
She took several deep breaths and raised her chin. Even then, she could only barely meet Eli's downward gaze.
She forced out an extremely ugly smile. "Fine. Very good."
With that, she turned and walked out. Eli narrowed his eyes as he watched Umbridge leave, wondering what nasty scheme that old witch was plotting now.
"All right, that was merely a small interruption. I now officially declare that this Dueling Club gathering has begun!"
Hearing the wave-like cheers behind her, Umbridge nearly ground her teeth to pieces.
Among the crowd, Fred Weasley and George Weasley shouted the loudest. They practically wanted to toss Eli into the sky.
"Eli just drove off a professor!"
"Hooray!"
Those two simply loved stirring up trouble.
