Everyone was panicking. Just imagine it: they had only just left the station, eating hot pot and singing with their friends, when the train suddenly got hijacked and stopped. How could they not panic?

"Th-there seems to be something moving outside."

Ron Weasley's voice sounded frightened.

He sat by the window, trying desperately to make out whatever was outside, but the glass seemed to have frosted over. He could only vaguely see dark shadows flitting about beyond it.

The temperature dropped rapidly, as though they had suddenly been hit by a cold wave from Siberia. Even the drinks on the table began freezing at a visible rate.

It was only September. How could it possibly be this cold?

The train's lighting system seemed to have been damaged as well. Inside and outside the carriage alike, there was only the same unsettling darkness.

Even with such a disturbance, Professor Lupin, asleep in the corner, showed no sign of waking up.

Eli even wanted to poke him. You're not dead, are you?

The atmosphere in the carriage suddenly turned strange. No one made a sound.

"It feels like someone's coming aboard..."

As if answering Ron Weasley's words, the train suddenly lurched violently, making the already tense group turn pale.

Eli had already gripped his Wand, ready for a Dementor to burst in at any moment.

That was right—a Dementor. At a time like this, only Dementors could cause such an effect.

They had to be searching for the escaped Sirius Black.

Muted cries of alarm sounded throughout the train. The Dementors had boarded.

The temperature continued to fall, and the atmosphere grew ever more oppressive.

Slowly, a drifting black shadow appeared outside the compartment. It was like a huge, tattered sheet of black cloth, with no discernible shape and no visible face.
