After dinner, Hagrid invited them to his hut.
The group strolled over to Hagrid's Hut. It was simple, but Hagrid always made it feel cozy.
"Oh, come on in!"
They stared at Hagrid in the doorway, wondering if they had mistaken him for someone else.
He was no longer wearing his old, rather shabby moleskin coat. Instead, he looked as though he had dressed for the circus.
He wore an old-fashioned suit with a bow tie knotted crookedly around his neck.
Just looking at it made Eli feel choked.
"Good grief, Hagrid! You haven't been wearing that thing all this time, have you?"
Ron Weasley couldn't understand why Hagrid had dressed like that.
Their looks made Hagrid uncomfortable. He knew his outfit might be a little awkward.
"Come on in!"
Hagrid ushered them inside.
"I was just... trying to look a bit more like a professor..."
While Hagrid busied himself, the others made themselves at home. Ron Weasley and Draco Malfoy fought over the sofa.
"Try some. I just made these Rock Cakes, and they're pretty good."
Hagrid looked eager, but the others' expressions froze.
They had tried them before. When Draco Malfoy first visited, they had even talked him into eating one.
It had nearly broken his teeth.
Eli had always thought Hagrid had a soft spot for cute things. He loved keeping adorable little pets and making homemade treats whenever he had the chance.
Unfortunately, other people had a hard time eating those treats.
Harry remembered the cake Hagrid had sat on, leaving a dent shaped like his backside. Draco Malfoy remembered his nearly shattered teeth.
"No, thanks. We just had dinner in the Great Hall. We're stuffed."
"That's right..."
Hagrid withdrew the Rock Cakes, disappointed. "Oh, I see. Bad timing on my part."
"Hagrid, is there something
