We're going premium~
October 1, the National Day holiday, marks the official start of paid chapters.
Although this isn't my first paid release, I still have rather mixed feelings this time.
I'm not a gifted writer. I've written several books totaling a few million Chinese characters, but my best result was barely an average of a thousand subscriptions per chapter, and I probably only scraped my way there by riding Naruto's coattails (sob~).
This is my first novel to leave fanfiction elements behind, with a wholly original plot and setting.
Since I started posting it, I've written over two hundred thousand Chinese characters and gained three thousand bookmarks, but fewer than three hundred readers are keeping up, and the number genuinely following each update is even smaller... Compared with my previous books, this one's landed flat on its face.
But honestly, that isn't surprising. After all, I picked up the pen again after several years away, and I could clearly feel how rusty I was as I wrote.
There are plenty of problems, too. I've read everyone's comments and suggestions, and the criticism was fair. I have nothing to say in my defense, so all I can do is stand at attention and take the blows, try to tighten up the story once the paid chapters begin, and work hard to tell it well.
I'm still very grateful that you've read this far. Every reader keeping up, every recommendation vote, and every monthly ticket has been an encouragement to me, and the driving force that has kept me writing until now.
For the paid launch, the tentative plan is to post ten thousand Chinese characters.
As for extra updates afterward, that'll depend on first-chapter subscriptions and the other numbers. If you can afford it, please lend your support~
