"The entrance was actually sealed shut!"
Tang San parted the vine leaves and stood before the mountain wall for a moment, his expression gradually darkening.
The crack that had once been wide enough for someone to squeeze through sideways was now blocked by several large boulders, with jade-green mist drifting between them.
There was no need to guess who had done it.
His outstretched hand paused in midair before retracting. Moving the rocks would not be difficult, but if it caused too much of a commotion and Dugu Bo happened to be inside, he would not even get a chance to explain himself.
Tang San walked along the mountain wall, keeping his footsteps light. After circling for a long time, he finally found a steep cliff face he could climb.
There was no ready-made path here. The exposed rock was nearly vertical, while thick poisonous mist pooled in the shrubs below. Not even the sound of insects could be heard.
Whenever the mountain wind swept past, the mist above would disperse slightly, revealing a narrow rock ledge.
Tang San did not set out immediately. Instead, he crouched behind a tree and watched the thin mist repeatedly gather and disperse.
He waited for more than half a day.
No one came or went during that time, nor did he find any fresh traces of activity nearby. Dugu Bo seemed to be absent, but the word "seemed" was hardly reassuring.
Tang San pressed the medicine box at his waist, then looked up again. "I've already come this far. Am I really going to turn back now?"
The next instant, the clothes on his back stretched open as eight spider lances slowly extended. Their tips hooked into cracks in the stone, lifting his body from the ground as he climbed upward in alternation.
