His pursuit of Zhu Zhuqing is possessive and insensitive to her wishes. He initially claims her as his, repeatedly presses unwanted advances, and mistakes professional teamwork for romantic reconciliation. Even after Tang San advises him to abandon flashy courtship, he privately views behaving like a gentleman as an act of restraint rather than genuine change. 11 16 26 37 38

Arrival at Shrek Academy

Dai Mubai first notices Zhu Zhuqing at Shrek Academy’s registration site and immediately declares possessive interest in her. Zhu Zhuqing reacts with clear disgust, contrasting him unfavorably with Tang Shuo. 11 12

Failed Courtship of Zhu Zhuqing

Dai Mubai attempts to win Zhu Zhuqing over with roses, expensive clothing, invitations, and repeated declarations of sincerity. Ning Rongrong exposes his past behavior, while Zhu Zhuqing rejects him outright. 12 16

Believing that their improved teamwork signals affection, Dai Mubai stages a public confession with Tang San, Oscar, Ning Rongrong, and Ma Hongjun acting as an “atmosphere squad.” Zhu Zhuqing knocks away his bouquet and condemns him for prioritizing conquest and face-saving over her feelings. 37 38

Conflict with Ma Hongjun

After both suffer romantic rejection, Dai Mubai and Ma Hongjun mock one another. Ma Hongjun’s claim that Zhu Zhuqing loves someone else provokes Dai Mubai into attacking him, beginning a fight between the two Shrek students. 38

Their conflict is set aside when Ma Hongjun returns poisoned and severely injured; Dai Mubai recognizes the danger, summons Tang San, and uses White Tiger Soul Power to protect Ma Hongjun’s heart meridian during treatment. 42

Great Soul Arena Defeat

Seeking revenge for Ma Hongjun, Dai Mubai challenges Shuofeng to a wagered soul match, staking all five hundred Gold Soul Coins he owns. 51

Dai Mubai opens with White Tiger Body Barrier, White Tiger Radiant Wave, and White Tiger Vajra Transformation, but Eastern Sovereign Taiyi’s aura suppresses his martial soul. Tang Shuo crushes his right arm, shatters several ribs, and poisons him with Myriad-Poison Fiend Legs. 52

Tang San and Ning Rongrong stabilize Dai Mubai and remove the more than twenty interlocking poisons in his body, though Tang San is severely exhausted by the treatment. 53

Fourth Spirit Ring and Forest Defeat

Dai Mubai absorbs the Darkbreaking Nether Tiger’s Spirit Ring, reaches level 42, and gains White Tiger Meteor Shower. Emboldened by his advancement, he scouts ahead alone in the Star Dou Great Forest. 72

He encounters the masked Tang Shuo and Qian Renxue, attacks after being dismissed, and is defeated by a single palm strike after Tang Shuo disperses his White Tiger Radiant Wave with one finger. 73

Tournament Conflict

As Shrek Academy’s captain, Dai Mubai leads the team in its preliminary match against Heaven Dou Royal Academy and mocks the opposing academy for replacing Yu Tianheng with Tang Shuo. 95

During the later Shrek–Tang Shuo match, he joins the team’s attempt at revenge. Tang Shuo defeats Shrek’s combined attack and breaks Dai Mubai’s arm again, explicitly invoking Dai Mubai’s past mistreatment of Zhu Zhuqing. 107
