Located in the central-east of the Heaven Dou Empire, Sunset Forest was nowhere near as vast as the Star Dou Great Forest, and the overall age of its soul beasts was generally lower as well. Yet its ecosystem possessed a character all its own.

The vegetation here was lush and diverse. It was especially rich in all manner of strange flowers, vines, and plant-type soul beasts with special attributes. A faint layer of miasma hung in the air year-round.

For most soul masters, Sunset Forest was an excellent place to obtain their first few soul rings, with relatively manageable risks.

But for certain special beings, its value went far beyond that.

A figure wrapped in a deep purple cloak was silently walking through the depths of Sunset Forest.

Her steps were light, as though she were not treading upon the piled leaves and tangled roots beneath her feet, but floating in the air.
