• Li Yu traveled from Kunlun to visit Hongyun, gained the Cosmos Ruler after defeating Randeng, and later attended Hongjun’s first sermon in Purple Cloud Palace.
• Li Yu settled on an Eastern Sea island, resisted Zhunti’s attempt to seize the Bitter Bamboo, and obtained the Mysterious Origin Water-Control Banner and Godslayer Spear at Hongjun’s second sermon.
• After Fuxi died, Li Yu helped Taiqing preserve his soul, then joined Hongyun and Zhen Yuanzi in confronting Minghe over Jin Shan’s abduction.
• Li Yu brought the transformed Bitter Bamboo to Five Villages Temple, where Hongyun recovered and Zhen Yuanzi agreed to teach Red Boy.
• At Hongjun’s third sermon, Li Yu reached Quasi-Saint Perfection as Hongjun announced his merger with the Heavenly Dao and bestowed Primordial Purple Qi on six cultivators.
• Nüwa created the Human Race with Resting Soil and the Primordial Gourd Vine, became a saint, and moved Wa Palace beyond the heavens.
• Li Yu protected the growing Human Race for a hundred years, then went to the Huaxu Tribe after learning that wicked beings were slaughtering humans and asked chief Lei to speak with him.

Li Yu protected the Human Race through the Witch-Demon conflict, secured the Chaos Bell, and began preparing for the age that followed. He then sought influence over the coming Heavenly Court and explored the Human Sect’s scattered legacies, leaving the story at Xiaoyao Sect.

• Li Yu protected the Human Race, sent Red Boy to guard it, and joined forces with Houtu, Hongyun, Zhen Yuanzi, and others to stop the Demon Race from harvesting human souls for the Witch-Slaying Sword.
• Li Yu freed the souls trapped in the Witch-Slaying Sword, and the Saints later repaired the world after Gonggong and Zhurong shattered it.
• After the Golden Crows’ rampage began the Witch-Demon War, Li Yu obtained the Chaos Bell when both armies were annihilated and persuaded the bell to accept him as its master.
• Li Yu returned Red Boy to Hongyun, refined his Eastern Sea island into a portable grotto-heaven, and resolved to help establish the Heavenly Court and influence the Investiture of the Gods.
• Li Yu recognized newborn Haotian as the future Jade Emperor, declined to take him as a disciple, and later parted from him after encouraging his sword practice.
• Li Yu met Yun Zhongzi, described how Bitter Bamboo had taken form, and sent him to visit Zhu Lingzi at Five Villages Temple.
• Li Yu found Xiaoyao Sect, where Yang Tian welcomed him as the Human Sect’s Deputy Headmaster and described the sect’s size and alliances.
