The elevator doors opened. Song Ren had just sat down on the little stool by his door when his phone chimed with a new message.
Along with the message saying he had arrived home, Mo Ning had sent a photo.
Bending down to change into his slippers, Song Ren tapped open the photo one-handed.
The photo filling his entire screen showed the young, handsome alpha flashing a broad smile at the camera, with the glittering city nightscape behind Mo Ning.
After opening the door and entering his quiet home, Song Ren sat down beside the living room's floor-to-ceiling window.
His gaze rested on the bustling night view of the same city. After a moment, a faint smile touched Song Ren's lips as he lowered his head and replied to Mo Ning.
Song Ren: Just got in. I'll wash up and sleep soon. Good night.

The reply came almost as soon as the message was sent.
"Replying so fast... Don't tell me you've been holding your phone waiting for my message?" The corner of Song Ren's mouth lifted as he muttered to himself, "Silly kid."
He stared at the selfie Mo Ning had sent for a while, then pressed and held the image to save it.
